Horribly enough I see a lot of similarities to Weimer Germany. The Bolsheviks were attacking legitimate governments then as well. In fact they took down Bavaria completely. There was the Spartakus Uprising and then the communists declared the Munich Soviet Republic and the Bremen Socialist Republic.
All of the leftist leaders had helped sabotage Germany in the past and kept hounding the German government after their defeat. No matter what elections the people won the leftists rioted and occupied city halls and state governments.
The people finally got tired of them. Hitler capitalized on it. In every country sooner or later the people get tired of them. And then it gets ugly.
