These are 2012 figures as can't find them for 2016

Total number of Americans eligible to vote 218,959,000

Total number of Americans registered to vote - 146,311,000

Total number of Americans who voted in the 2012 Presidential election - 126,144,000

Let's say the number of eligible voters in 2016 was 220 million. According this this, only 125,249,000 actually votes. A little over 50%.

16%2B-%2B1

So, what does that say about voting in America as opposed to other countries with 90%+ turnouts. In other words, only a bit over one quarter of American voters elected our next president. (I am glad he won)

Whats the source for the vote totals for the candidates? I didn't think they release numbers that high for either one yet.
