Voters now trust Republicans more than Democrats on six out of 10 key issues

a. So you think banks that is asking for government welfare should excessively pay their ceo's? You're a fool.
Actually it's the fool that gives banks government welfare in the first place, once you give them free money what incentive do they have to begin practicing sound business? It's akin to giving an alcoholic free booze and then being surprised when he starts drinking it...

b. Yes Democrats have gone along with NAFTA and free trade, but let us notice who will be against Obama fixing these problems. It will be you, the GOP and possibly the libertarians. Us Liberal Democrats will complain to Washington to fix the trade deficits. Will you help us by calling your representatives? No you will not, because you like the cheap goods and you aren't in manufacturing. And you are too short sighted to see that this will affect you too ultimately. Ignorant and arrogant.
The problem with NAFTA is that it was a good idea in principle but poorly designed and poorly implemented (the SOP for the Federal Gub'ment). The only way to "fix" trade deficits is for American Industry to increase it's global competitiveness (so foreigners want to buy more from us) and for Americans to consume less & save more. Real economic growth comes from SAVINGS not BORROWING, we have become a nation of borrowers, we borrow from the future to satisfy our consumption wants in the present, this is the source of our trade deficits and is an enormous drag on our economic growth. Protectionism will NOT address this problem it will only exacerbate it by making our industry less competitive and inviting retaliation from our trading partners. We need the Federal Government to get the heck out of the way not get more involved, government bears the largest responsibility for creating our economic woes in the first place and is clearly not the solution to them.

We can't when China manipulates its currency, mexico has cheap labor, canada has socialized medicine and the American corporations like it the way it is. Its not an even playing field.

And every country protects their workers to some degree, except America. I can't buy into your libertarian "government get out of the way" mentality. Government sets the rules:

WASHINGTON— Rep. Louise M. Slaughter, D-Fairport, joined eight of her colleagues Tuesday in pressing the U. S. International Trade Commission to recommend a crackdown on the import of tires from China — which, she said, threatens the 1,000 jobs at the Goodyear-Dunlop plant in the Town of Tonawanda.

“They are hard-working, skilled, productive employees who make high-quality products,” Slaughter said. “Now they are looking at a very real possibility of job loss not because they cannot compete but because of an import surge from China causing market disruption.”

The United Steelworkers, which represents workers at the Tonawanda plant and other U. S. tire facilities, filed a petition under a provision of trade law that allows the commission to recommend that the president impose country-specific trade quotas on products that are flooding the American market. And the lawmakers said Chinese tires are just that sort of product.

Democracy - Not "The Free Market" - Will Save America's Middle Class

Good read about government.

'You Can't Govern if You Don't Believe in Government'

Here's another.

Uh oh, not supposed to mention the past. Everything happening in and to America started on January 21, 2009. Remember?

Nope, Bozothebobo and yourself don't like to acknowledge that it is both parties that have fucked this country. You only believe it was the GOP...

A democratic president signed Nafta and even touted its passage with pride. You know how Bozo likes to rail about Nafta being a Gop trade agreement......:cuckoo:

Plus he mentions trade with China, what the hell have democrats done to make trade better? They have controlled Congress for quite a while now. If they can pass an almost 800 billion dollar 'porkalus bill', surely they could have demanded more favorable trade terms with China.

He is right the GOP has tried to help corporate America. But after all, doesn't corporations employ folks? Maybe Obama's new pay czar will help employ people....:cuckoo:

U.S. lawmakers urge Obama to limit Chinese tires

Notice what side of this issue you are on. There lies the difference between the parties. You will start crying about ISOLATIONISM, PROTECTIONISM, TARIFFS, REGULATIONS, and any other fixes to this problem. How do I know? I've been having this argument with ahole right wingers for 10 years.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. lawmakers on Tuesday urged President Barack Obama to slap limits on imports of tires from China, saying a surge of low-cost tires was damaging U.S. industry and throwing Americans out of work.

No they should be allowed to pay their loans back. Government should stop controlling them after nearly forcing some to take the handout.
