Voters are increasingly displeased with President Obama's handling of the economy, but a new poll finds most Americans still think George W. Bush is responsible for the nation's dismal financial state.

....the Quinnipiac poll finds more Americans trust the president on the issue than the GOP congress, 45 percent to 38 percent. Meanwhile, 48 percent of those surveyed say they will blame the GOP congress if a debt deal isn't approved, compared to 34 percent who say they will blame the Obama administration.

Seems the people aren't getting lost in the RNC propaganda machine anymore. Woe for republicans in the next election.

Further proof that the average American voter is a fool.

Further proof that you are a rabid RW hack.

Even if you buy that "Obama made it worse" swill.

That statement alone implies that he DIDN'T start it.

Just wasn't able to fix the mess.

Snap out of it fool!

You know me not at all.

I blame Bush. I blame Obama. I blame Pelosi. I blame Boehner. I blame Reid. I blame all of Washington. Democrat, Republicans, Lobbyists, whoever. They all had a hand in fucking up this country. To believe otherwise makes you the fool.

Your post is proof that you are a rabid LW hack.

2010 midterms where historical, that doesn't sound to me like people getting lost, sounds more like people waking up. And even better yet, 2012 will even be more embarrassing for the Obamabots and the Democrat followers. Keep selling yourself ideas that give you warm and fuzzies, because numbers don't lie, and the left are in some serious trouble in this next election cycle.

Uh-huh. And YOU just keep selling yourself ideas that give YOU warm and fuzzies. :eusa_whistle:

As we're seeing the voters will not stand for only balancing the budget on the backs of working men and women or the senior citizens. Without raising taxes on the wealthy there is no shared sacrifice. They got MASSIVE tax cuts over the past 30 years and it did squat for the nation or the budget. Hell, even Warren Buffet realizes that.

That's not what I heard Nov 2010, but please make sure Obama runs on that platform

Tell that to the MAJORITY of the American voters that correctly realize that Bush's policies are mostly to blame even today.

According to a new Quinnipiac poll, 54 percent of those surveyed say Bush is responsible for the "current condition" of the economy, compared to just 27 percent who blame Obama.

It's like the immigration reform push. Anyone who was actually engaged with solving the problem caught blame for it.

Guess who the public blamed for illegal alien problem?

You guessed it. The GOP.

Even though the Dems are the ones telling illegals "Come On In".

Ask Hispanics who they thank for allowing them to come to this country. Not the evil Republicans. While the GOP was squabbling amongst themselves over what to do about it the Democrats sat back and let them, never saying a word.

People who aren't paying attention don't blame Obama because he hasn't been engaged. Now that he has become more engaged the blame will start to shift more to him.

Oh, and btw, this is the kind of President we're dealing with these days:

The present debate is plainly one that Obama would rather not be having. Not only does endless talk about how to reduce spending run counter to his belief in an ever-expanding government, but it's pretty clear at this point that this president is not really all that interested or suited for the day-to-day business of governing. His remarkably light schedule, frequent breaks, and general demeanor suggests that the man is someone whose personal energy level is not consistent with that of an active Commander-in-Chief. He's energized by the crowds and the adulation of the campaign trail -- not the adult business of managing a republic.

What's even worse is the frustration of dealing with someone who has no intention of following through on any deal once it's agreed upon. Obama would often change the numbers on agreed cuts like they had never agreed on anything. It's why Boehner said it was like dealing with Jello.

He was in office at the time, but the greater % of policies that caused this mess are not republican. After the shit stain in office is out watch how those number change .... the media is in his pocket!

You guys do realize that you are debating an issue that cannot be proven, right?

Even the outcome of the last or the next election will not prove either assertion about WHOM the public blames.

I suspect that most thinking Americans blame their LEADERS regardless of party.

Its only you damned fool partisans who think one party or one man is responsible for this macro-economic mess.

Nice smoke-screen.

Most of America is not partisan. They blame who the media focuses on.

While Obama golfs the press focuses on the GOP who merely want to solve a serious problem.

The very fact that they are the only rational folks even attempting to work on it gives the blame to them.

McCain found this out when he stopped his campaign to deal with a similar issue in 08' when the big crash came. It was a major blunder on his part.

B-b-b-b-b-b-b-ut....i gots a microeconomic brain....
neuroeconomics.jpg

Neuroeconomics seeks to use neuroscience to guide theories about how people make economic decisions and to use economic theory to guide the development of our understanding of the brain.

Microeconomic theory concerns itself with predicting and explaining how people make choices between differently valued goods. Until recently, however, economists have necessarily been agnostic about the psychological mechanisms that cause people to make these decisions. Now we can use the tools of modern neuroscience to see what goes on in the brain during these decisions, and identify the precise mechanisms of choice. Our research focusses on decision-making under risk, ambiguity, and delays. Dr. Hayden was recognized as the Outstanding Young Investigator by the Society for Neuroeconomics in 2010.
