Vitter Getting Crushed in LA Gov Election

Since the election is actually this coming Saturday I believe, I have a question----------->

If this Republican named Vitter is as bad with as much baggage as the left says he has, (and I am not saying he does, or does not, I do not know) he obviously should lose.

DO WE ALL AGREE, AND CAN I HAVE AN AMEN BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!!!!!

But, what if he doesn't? Does that mean these mindless lefty minions on here, who are running against an AWFUL Republican candidate, will finally admit that OBAMA is on the wrong side of virtually every issue, which is why a horseshit candidate could win, when the democrat is tied to Obama!?!?!?!?!?!

So now, we Repubs have an excuse to lose this one; there is NO/NONE/NADA excuse for the Democrat. Let us see if the negative feeling about the Democrats and Obama, over ride the disgust that is felt about the Republican! Should the Republican win with Vitter being such a scumbag, if I was lib, I wouldn't be so confident any more that Hilly could even beat Trump, lol!

O'bama has a grand total of zero to do with either David Vitter or John Bel Edwards. Nor is he running for governor. And the same is true of "Hilly" and Rump. You post makes no sense.

You are full of crap! Why don't you call up their ads and videos, and see how they are positioning themselves, or is that to tough for you, lol.

This is ALL ABOUT OBAMA, like it or not. And honestly, I think the Republican SHOULD lose if what is said is true. But if he doesn't, you guys are DONE NATIONALLY, along with locally! Enjoy, and pray it goes your way Saturday, because if it doesn't, the writing is totally on the wall, no matter how hard you try and deny it!

No, again this has absolutely Zero -- nada, nothing, zilch, bupkis, fuck-all --- to do with O'bama. This is a governor election in Sleaziana. State election. Nothing to do with O'bama, like it or not. Who should win or lose depends *entirely* on the candidates running. And that's all there is to it.

Who the hell is "you guys"?

Hehehehehehehehehehehehe, nope, it is all about OBAMA, it is, and Hillary, and your libby ideas. You should be confidant, because I even think the Republican is going to lose, which shows how afraid you are he might win, lolol.

Spin, spin, spin, all you want. Just like the other 900 seats you clowns lost, it is all about Obama. Just because it is a pervert against a socialist, it still boils down to the same thing. What will win out????????????????? The disgust over Vitter, or the disdain over Obama, lololol. If it is even close, it should tell you that a poopy diaper and Obama rate close to the same, hehehehehehehehehehehe!

If the Repub wins, all you lefties in the know should instantly run to Las Vegas and bet on "the un-named Republican nominee" facing Hillary. If the writing is not on the wall because it is not visible to you, then you people honestly are a bunch ostriches-)

You can not blame Vitter for thinking he would win. After all, Louisiana elected a crook for a governor years ago, and it was absolutely no secret that he was a crook. Of course, his rival was David Duke, Grand Wizard of the KKK.

Plus, he somehow got re-elected to the Senate seat AFTER the diaper story uh, broke. Pun intended.

as I said, it's not like that state was in a healthy fiscal situation to begin with. Look who he took over from as Governor. and then they had Mayor the crook Nagin. and the beat rolled along
Jindal's woes are his own doing. The Governor of Louisana holds a line item veto and traditionally appoints the leadership of all committees in the legislative bodies as well as all leadership positions. Jindal has successfully taken over all of the higher and secondary Ed oversight and leadership boards and has run out of town any appointee that dared disagree with him. He wields mighty power in the state.

For additional context, Louisana is a resource rich state with a steady tourism stream of revenue. It has an income, sales, and property tax (most oil states eliminate one of those three at least).

Jindal has blown huge holes in the budget by repealing the Stelly tax and creating huge tax exemptions to draw in business. Those businesses that did come were disasters. A chicken company that came in was linking to a multi-fatality salmonella outbreak. V-Vehicles turned out to be a scam costing tax payers millions. Most folded immediately after collecting money from the state.

Cutting taxes isn't a terrible thing to do, nor are business incentive packaging. But you have to pay for those by cutting expenditures. Jindal, who again holds a line item veto, faced mid fiscal year and end of fiscal year budget shortfalls for six solid years. Considering he had to propose balanced budgets at the start of the fiscal year this meant he's literally bleed out money every single year.

On top of that he's had embarrassing political reversals. Jindal tried to repeal the income tax (again not uncommon in oil rich states) and was told to get lost by the legislature (whose leadership he appointed). He tried to reform K12 teacher tenure and got the law tossed on an embarrassing legal technicality a pre-Law student wouldn't make. He tried to implement a voucher system and nearly helped fund a madrasah in New Orleans. One school he did fund was housed in an auditorium and used vcr tapes instead of actual human beings.

There's a reason Jindal was losing in a potential head to head match up to Hillary in a state that is solid red. Everyone, of all stripes, hated the guy and saw him for the incompetent he was.

I'm thinking the republicans in the senate are having second thoughts about that standing ovation they gave Vitter on the floor of the senate when he returned from his diaper scandal. Bad move.
Same goes for the voters in Louisiana who reelected him after the scandal.

It's looking increasingly less likely that Diaper Dave will be succeeding Bobby Jindal as the next governor of Louisiana

Run a Republican with no integrity following the administration of a Republican whose policies created one fiscal crisis after another, and that is a recipe for defeat. Jindal should be the poster boy for Dems nationwide.

yeah sure as if that state didn't already have a fiscal crisis and I believe Jindal took over for a Democrat eh? good grief, do you people ever hold a democrat responsible for anything?

snip:
there have been FIVE Republican Governors of that state since 1880. but we all should know it's those damn Republicans. sheesh

Good grief, can you ever stay on topic? This thread is about Vitter not your latest attempt to deflect to Democrats.
^ that Stephanie

Reporter: "Senator, now that you've lost, what's your next move?"

Vitter: "Depends..."

Who knows what that whacky state will do? They elected Vitter after he got caught paying a prostitute to change his poo-filled diaper. They elected the guy to the Senate to represent them in Washington DC.

What? Lmao didn't pay attention to that one.

Surplus after Katrina? Absolutely no way. For Fiscal year ending June, 2008, they had projected less than a $ million surplus in the general fund, and that was with over $8 billion in recovery funds for the year. And I suspect those projections were way over inflated. And actual, fiscal year end 2014? Over $3 million left in the general fund.

Jindal has been governor for eight years He owns the state's situation, just like you guys continuously remind the lefty hacks that Obama now owns the state of this country after seven years in the Oval Office, or does that standard only apply to Democrats?

I know, I was just doing some research on it and was shocked to see that Democrats have run the state since 18frikken80

What does 1880 have to do with the state's fiscal situation in 2015? Republicans have controlled the state legislature for four years now.

as I said, it's not like that state was in a healthy fiscal situation to begin with. Look who he took over from as Governor. and then they had Mayor the crook Nagin. and the beat rolled along

You're full of crap Stephanie....when Jindal took office Louisiana had a $1 billion budget surplus, Jindal has turned that into a $1.6 billion deficit.

Jindal is a complete failure and everyone, even the GOP, knows it.

Vitter is slime ball and shouldn't have any political future.

I sit corrected.

However polls have been proven to be bullshit more often than not.

In this case a conservative state rejected a republicrat who proved to be an immoral whore monger over a democrook who claims to be a blue dog who opposes abortion and supports gun rights.

We'll see how much he "compromises" with the republicrats and lowers the state's debt without starting riots.

If Edwards wants to raise taxes he is likely to find a very supportive Legislature. During the 2015 session the Legislature was nearly in open riot against Jindal's slavish devotion to the Tax Pledge. Most folks realize Jindal gave away the state with the cuts he made.

It's a moot point though. The State Constitution limits tax bills to every other year so 2016's budget will have to be balanced by cuts.

However before folks get too excited: it took a political perfect storm to sink Vitter. He's long been the architect of the GOP take over of Louisiana. He's controlled the party in Lousiana for nearly a year overtly after stealing/destroying Jindal's political clout in the state. Less than a year ago he looked absolutely unbeatable and he'd successfully distanced himself from Jindal. I don't see much to make me think the climate has truly changed. People just hate Jindal and Vitter.
