Virginia GOP underhanded redistricting

Geez, will you lefties ever stop whining? Gerrymandering has been around for 250 years. It's only underhanded when you think your party got screwed, otherwise it's good strategy.

Of course that isn't true because states ARE doing something about it. It needs to stop.

You mean like the federal Court ordered black districts? Like those? or are those ok cause they vote democratic?

Republicans can't win without disenfranchising voters

No, not like those. I'm referring to legislators drawing district lines. Lines should be drawn by a non partisan redistricting committee.

Virginia Redistricting 2013: State GOP Rams Bill Through Senate In Absence Of Democratic Sen. Henry Marsh

The only way the GOP can stay alive is to come up with these backroom, underhanded, and possibly illegal efforts to gerrymander "safe" districts for their party. It might work for a while, but the handwriting is on the wall. It is doomed to fail

This is a grand example of the Republican Desperation. They cannot win with the vote, so they will disenfranchise voters with their games.

Republicans are always outsmarting demon craps. you'll have to get used to it.

Virginia just went through it's once a decade redistricting last year

Republicans decided to redistrict again with 30 minutes discussion

The party of sleaze

remember when those demoncraps fled Wisconsin so the Republicans could not vote? this is Karma,, only in Va. ya reap what ya sows demon craps.

disenfranchised: past participle, past tense of dis·en·fran·chise (Verb)
Verb

1. Deprive (someone) of the right to vote.
2. Deprived of power; marginalized.

^ That's the definition... Care to explain how anyone is getting disenfranchised? Good luck with that...

Have you been sleeping for the past 250 years? Both parties have been gerrymandering for as long as they've existed.

I seriously dislike gerrymandering. No matter who is doing it. We need to have people representing communities not parts of many communities.

Gerrymandering been around for a while. I say the Internet exposes more. It's called awareness

Redistricting is almost always under handed. Did you see some of the new Districts in Illinois? lol

But I bet you only can find fault with the GOP right.

Um Maryland dems did this two years ago which led to increased numbers for their candidates. No dem outrage there?? Lol.

there was an Inauguration 2 years ago? :eusa_eh: :eusa_hand: They waited until a Dem Rep left to attend the Inauguration THEN did their dirty work.

Wow......dictionary and everything

Let's see..

Shall we start with Voter ID? Requiring people who do not drive to have a Government ID to vote?

How about bogging down the ballots with trivial initiatives to force people to spend hours just to vote

How about fucking with the electoral college in battleground states to take away the peoples choice for president

How about back room redistricting while one representative is out of town and forcing a vote in 30 minutes and ignoring the will of the people?

You make it sound like it was a huge swing. The Democrats only gained on seat from Maryland districts. Though that was more due to successful attempts by Democrats to appeal to public stupidity, managing to link Bartlett with Todd Akin in many people's minds.

Urban Dictionary: disenfranchised

A word used to describe the sickening feeling you get as an adult walking through Disneyland where every ride has been converted into a movie theme.

Here in Arizona it is the 'r's' complaining about the 'd's'd redristricting maps.

" from the link;
"Both lawsuits said Arizona's redistricting commission violated state constitutional requirements on processes and criteria for drawing maps, and the suit challenging the legislative district map also said it unconstitutionally packs Republicans into certain districts to give Democrats an advantage in other districts.

that being the case it looks to me like this gerrymandering game could be called bipartisan.
