Violence against women in america

Most Americans do not follow the Bible in any way I agree. They use the title of 'Christian' but they do not truly live a Christian life.

And yes, most of Americans are brainwashed by the media. However, what happens to the Muslim women that are covered under our media IS happening. It may not reflect what happens with ALL Muslim women, but it does happen and the excuse used for this is the Muslim belief.

is that a bible in your avatar?

Yes :D

Ok, let me put this together.

YOu put an GUN on the BIBLE and call OTHERS they weren´t true christians?

Doing a circuit between pistols and jesus is for my comprehension one of the biggest imaginable blasphemy. What the hell drives you so mad, that you put the message and murder tools together? If you would trust in God, you won´t need a gun. I´m a reborn and true christian who takes the message of jesus seriously and I will never even touch one of these damn things. Shitting on the bible wouldn´t be worser then putting a gun on it. Perhaps you should work on your relaitionship to jesus before you´re pointing a finger to somenone else.

I am the type of person that holds to my beliefs and holds certain political beliefs as well. I believe we have the right to protect ourselves and also believe that the Lord gave us a way to protect ourselves. Not everyone believes that the Lord will protect them and thus they should have the right to do it themselves.

This is just priceless.

I may have it framed.

Sorry bout that,

1. What does that even mean Madeline?
2. I happen to believe the wings dude is correct, he has every right to believe in Jesus, and hold a gun.
3. Praise the Lord and Pass The Ammo!

the culture in your country is no longer purely american. it is diverse so whether you like it or not you will be influenced in some way or another by it.

are you going to fight and defame all non-american cultures to keep yours in first place?

And that is the problem. You need to assimilate into our culture.
That is what you FORCE us to do in your back yard.

the problem is that you people are being brainwashed on a daily basis by your media. what you see on tv does not reflect the real life of muslim women.

the root of your problems is the lack of understanding of your bible.

you would not be having thousands of broken families if you followed your bible

When I hear "you people" I wait for the religous lecture.

i won´t denie your rights. i know that americans aren´t able to discuss the gun laws at all and i need to accept this. And in a country where your could live in a region where the next neighbour is miles away, it makes sense.

But christianity is the religion of peace, love, forgiveness and non-violent fights. Putting god and guns together shold be left by the radical muslims. If we are better then them, we shold show it. I don´t need a gun and i will never have one. And i´m proud of this.

What does this have to do with violence on women in America? Posting things like this in a thread that has nothing to do with race is hyjacking the thread. ;) Seems you are always trying to take every thread you post on into a racist discusion. Why not just address the topic at hand without dragging race into it?

I am a White woman and I understand you consern about the White race, but it is not nessasary to take every topic and change it into a racist thing.

Why not start you own thread with this post? may be interesting and it would not be bring this one off topic.
Black and Hispanic men commit the most crime against women, my post points out that the increase in black and hispanic populations will mean more violence for women in America.

More violence is prolly committed by city dwellers than by rural dwellers. More is likely committed by young men who have played video games. More by people who prefer sneakers to shoes.

Some coincidences are not causal, Tank.

Your post only pointed out that the White population is decreasing. There was nothing about violence on women in that post. If that is what you were meaning with the info. you posted, then why not explain it in the same post?

Americans discuss gun laws all the time. There is no law that says we can not discuss them.

Putting firearms and God together does NOT mean that you will murder for the sake of your God as the Muslims do and this is not the reason I do it.

I carry a firearm to 'protect' myself and my loved ones. I have 3 children that are intrusted to me by the Lord to take care of. If I sit back and let someone kill them, or even worse, and I had a way to stop it would that be love?

and i would claim that 95% of all violent crimes is made by bad educated, fatherless, unloved, soon traumatized men without or with the false paragons, touched too soon with drugs and alcohol, seen and suffered too much too early in their lives.

I know, you can´t put the reasons of any bad behaviour to a bad childhood. But you also can´t denie it.

The evil is like a genetic illness. Bad parents produce bad children which prouce themselves bad children until one stands up and says: stop! Either i go to therapy and get rid of these old, succeded structures or i won´t have children from myselves. If you look as an example to alcoholics studies, you´ll see that 50% of children of alkoholics become also alcoholics. And only 1/3 of the children f alcoholics gain a normal life, 2/3 get lost on the road, depressive, criminal or drug addicted.

So, i like to ask again: Where do these violent men are coming from?

the difference is, that your gun may be your gun but your bible is not your private property. it´s the holy word which belongs to all people in the world. putting a gun on it involves that you keep it for yourself and need to be forced to share. U.S. STATISTICS

Fact #1: 17.6 % of women in the United States have survived a completed or attempted rape. Of these, 21.6% were younger than age 12 when they were first raped, and 32.4% were between the ages of 12 and 17. (Full Report of the Prevalence, Incidence, and Consequences of Violence Against Women, Findings from the National Violence Against Women Survey, November, 2000)

Fact #2: 64% of women who reported being raped, physically assaulted, and/or stalked since age 18 were victimized by a current or former husband, cohabiting partner, boyfriend, or date. (Full Report of the Prevalence, Incidence, and Consequences of Violence Against Women, Findings from the National Violence Against Women Survey, November, 2000)

Fact #3: Only about half of domestic violence incidents are reported to police. African-American women are more likely than others to report their victimization to police Lawrence A. Greenfeld et al. (1998). (Violence by Intimates: Analysis of Data on Crimes by Current or Former Spouses, Boyfriends, and Girlfriends. Bureau of Justice Statistics Factbook. Washington DC: U.S. Department of Justice. NCJ #167237. Available from National Criminal Justice Reference Service.)

Fact #5: In the National Violence Against Women Survey, approximately 25% of women and 8% of men said they were raped and/or physically assaulted by a current or former spouse, cohabiting partner, or date in their lifetimes. The survey estimates that more than 300,000 intimate partner rapes occur each year against women 18 and older. (Full Report of the Prevalence, Incidence, and Consequences of Violence Against Women, Findings from the National Violence Against Women Survey, November, 2000)

Fact #11: Fewer than half (48%) of all rapes and sexual assaults are reported to the police (DOJ 2001).

Fact #12: Sexual violence is associated with a host of short- and long-term problems, including physical injury and illness, psychological symptoms, economic costs, and death (National Research Council 1996).

Fact #13: Rape victims often experience anxiety, guilt, nervousness, phobias, substance abuse, sleep disturbances, depression, alienation, sexual dysfunction, and aggression. They often distrust others and replay the assault in their minds, and they are at increased risk of future victimization (DeLahunta 1997).

Fact #14: According to the National Crime Victimization Survey, more than 260,000 rapes or sexual assaults occurred in 2000; 246,180 of them occurred among females and 14,770, among males (Department of Justice 2001).

Fact #15: Sexual violence victims exhibit a variety of psychological symptoms that are similar to those of victims of other types of trauma, such as war and natural disaster (National Research Council 1996). A number of long-lasting symptoms and illnesses have been associated with sexual victimization including chronic pelvic pain; premenstrual syndrome; gastrointestinal disorders; and a variety of chronic pain disorders, including headache, back pain, and facial pain (Koss 1992).Between 4% and 30% of rape victims contract sexually transmitted diseases as a result of the victimization (Resnick 1997).

Fact #16: More than half of all rapes of women occur before age 18; 22% occur before age 12. (Full Report of the Prevalance, Incidence, and Consequences of Violence Against Women, Findings from the National Violence Against Women Survey, November, 2000)

In this study domestic violence included injuries caused by street crime.

Fact #29: Following the Supreme Court's decision in 2000 to strike down the civil-rights provision of the Federal Violence Against Women Act (ruling that only states could enact such legislation), only two states in the country (Illinois and California) have defined gender-based violence, such as rape and domestic violence, as sex discrimination, and created specific laws that survivors can use to sue their perpetrators in civil court. (Kaethe Morris Hoffer, 2004).

Fact #30: A study reported in the New York Times suggests that one in five adolescent girls become the victims of physical or sexual violence, or both, in a dating relationship. (New York Times, 8/01/01)

FACTS ABOUT VIOLENCE

Thirty alleged facts, and no frigging point. Was there a purpose to this recitation?

the problem is that you people are being brainwashed on a daily basis by your media. what you see on tv does not reflect the real life of muslim women.

the root of your problems is the lack of understanding of your bible.

you would not be having thousands of broken families if you followed your bible

Unlike Saudi Arabia, we are not limited to State Run News Sources. You work on that Human Right's thing, and get back when you figure it out. I would relate broken families more to lack of Integrity, Commitment, Poor People Skills, but I agree that when Religion teaches Value, Principle, The meaning of "For Better or Worse, in Sickness and in Health" it gives Marriage more meaning. Again, for us, one Man, one Woman.

i suggest you pay us a visit and say for yourself how we live in saudi arabia

As it happens, my uncle and his family lived in Saudi Arabia for years, and according to them, the picture we have of the appalling condition of women there is pretty damned accurate. So I tell you what: if you think you have it so fantastic there, go ahead and stay. I don't notice anyone clamoring to have you come here. I, on the other hand, much prefer living in a country which, if my husband beats and rapes me, will actually allow me to have him prosecuted instead of telling me that he has a right to my body regardless of what I say.

Frankly, I don't give a rat's ass about changing the way you live if you like it, so why don't you do me the same courtesy and mind your own frigging business about how I live?

Eventually, all humans will appear to be members of the same race....a bit brown, a bit Polyesian.

Personally, I can't wait.
To have only one race of people was Hitlers dream too.

The big difference is that Mad's hoping to get there by intermarriage and interbreeding, rather than by genocide.

I don't have a problem with achieving racial homogeneousness through boinking.

I am the type of person that holds to my beliefs and holds certain political beliefs as well. I believe we have the right to protect ourselves and also believe that the Lord gave us a way to protect ourselves. Not everyone believes that the Lord will protect them and thus they should have the right to do it themselves.

What Bible are YOU reading, Sparky? Because I don't recall God being a pacifistic hippy. This some new translation you came up with?

Dear GOD, you babble a lot to say absolutely nothing. The gun is on top of the Bible for two reasons: if the gun was UNDER the Bible, you wouldn't be able to SEE it, and if they were side by side, it wouldn't make as visually cohesive a picture. Duhhh. (Get someone to define "cohesive" for you.)

Dumbass. And I thought OUR schools were bad at teaching logical thought.
