I have one of the first Polaroid Land Cameras from the 1940s. It is a beautiful camera, sturdy and well made with instructions painted on each step from taking the photo to removing it from the camera. There is a process of peeling the photo off the backing, exposing it to light (it develops while you watch), then smearing it with a pink goo before it fades out. There's a set of bright lights and 3 different color filters to make a color photo. In those days there was no color film.
I called Polaroid a couple years ago and learned that one week every year they produce a batch of film packs and developing solution. The guy I talked to told me I have a valuable piece of history. I told him I wasn't interested in selling it and he had no idea about how much it's worth but it's in mint condition. I packed it in shipping containers when I left Charlotte in May. When I unpack and find it I'll post pictures.
