Vatican uncovers 'first Western painting of Native Americans'

really glad they found the painting...unfortunately the Natives were torn from their homes in paradise and the horrible rest of the story.

Just a question, please don't take it the wrong way, but why are the Vatican privy to the art and the rest of the world has to wait? Isn't it more culturally relative to the Native Americans who lost everything they had because of the explorations and colonization? That being said, I do like the painting, it seems dark which seems to reflect on the past even more.

in those days, the Churches were the patrons of the arts.
