Vatican Calls For An End to Capitalism

The problems associated with capitalism are in fact due to corrupt governments that creates, sustains, and grows all of the ills attributed to the free market. For all of human history mankind has lived in abject poverty, outside of the few nobility and royal families. The growth in the standard of living has been so minimal as to be almost non-existent untilt he rise of capitalism. Capitalism is the one and only economic system that has greatly improved the way people are living in every society that has tried it. It's true that a few have become enormously rich, mostly due to poor governance and unchecked cronyism. It is also true that no other economic system has improved the quality of life for everybody anywhere near what capitalism has done. It works.

--just as the problems with governments are due to corrupt private individuals. Fortunately most people in the markets as well as those in government gain sound moral compasses from religious teachers.

Actually, since the dawn of the bulk of the human race has laughed and song and taken joy in raising their families. They've also traded goods.

In fact, that's what's distinguished modern man from Neanderthals whose sites had only materials that could be found within a short walking distance. At Cro Magnon (AKA modern man) sites there were precious stones, hides, woods and metals that came from many hundreds of miles away. For tens of thousands of years we've swapped goods with itinerant traders.
