"He said $90 million in savings has already been achieved through reductions in travel and supplies and the closing of the offices should result in an additional $60 million savings." "....and he did not anticipate wide scale layoffs with the closures, which are expected to occur by this spring."

Only 1% of their entire budget.

Keeping the people and consolidating offices.

It's a drop in the bucket.

Giving up food inspections seems reckless to me.

Close down 500 military based abroad instead. That leaves about 400 bases.

The food inspections are doubtless duplicative and do little good. ANother example of the Left confusing aims with achievements.
We could close down every agency that funds arts and channel the money into much needed fighter jets. That would at least be within what the COnstitution says the feds ought to do.

150 million cut for the military? Heck they spent more than that on cruise missles alone in Libya.
