USATODAYGALLUP: Poll Danger Signs; Obama Tracking Lower Than Carter

HOLY SH!T.... and he's only been in office 6 months!!!!! We are in trouble...

With Obama's poll numbers slipping, so goes his influence over Congress, and the Senate. If his poll numbers were still in the high 60's I do believe this healthcare reform would be passing through the committees without a hitch....just like how the Cap and Trade went though Congress. Although, I think there were some strong arming from Pelosi on that issue.
But, with Obama's numbers starting to slide, the Blue Dogs are not so apt to to hang on the coat tail of a falling star. They know an important election is coming up, and they want to be on the right side of these debt laden bills that Obama is trying to manipulate through Congress and the Senate. Maybe the voters still do have some power in Washington....maybe.

Obama is gonna beat President Carter out of 1st place for the WORST President in history.

There sure was some arm breaking on that and it passed by a very slim margin. India told Hillary that there is NO WAY that they are going to comply and cut down their usage of carbon emisions.

Obama's rise to popularity has been largely unprecedented, as was his campaign.

And so, it seems, will be his fall. Only, will he take us with him?

I just sent out a letter to 300 of my professional constituents giving the names and addresses of our senators to oppose this national take over of 6% of our economy. Health care needs reform but the reform needs to occur in the private sector and not result in a National Take over.

you know... ignorant trolls like you are really annoying cause I have to keep factchecking you.

what your article REALLY says, freak:

Barack Obama, who completed six months in office Monday, has a 55% approval rating in the USA TODAY/Gallup Poll, putting him 10th among the dozen presidents who have served since World War II at this point in their tenures.

That's not as bad for Obama as it may sound: The six-month mark hasn't proved to be a particularly good indicator of how a president ultimately will fare.

*snip*

Two-thirds of Americans approved of the jobs Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush were doing at six months, but both would lose their bids for re-election.

I'm so glad you and kijit.. .the other ignorant troll... found each other, though.

Six months?? that's all? Dayuuuum!

Still too soon Willow. Thank God it is so obvious what you are doing.

Not only does this prove the GOP are all bad and only the blue dogs are equally as bad, this also proves

a. You don't get it

b. The lobbyists own our system.

So you don't really care that corporate America owns our politicians, or that they steal elections, as long as you THINK you are winning along with them.

When you realize you aren't, it'll be too late. Socialism my ass.

The good dems are the ones that you call socialists. The bad ones are the ones taking money from the healthcare giants.

Also, Obama has a much more organized opposition party from the beginning of his presidency than Cater did.

Perhaps all the political pundits talking about socialism still have had an affect on the people.

Perhaps most people aren"t as liberal as you would like to have them in the US?

“Conservatives” Are Single-Largest Ideological GroupPercentage of “liberals” higher this decade than in early ’90sby Lydia Saad
PRINCETON, NJ -- Thus far in 2009, 40% of Americans interviewed in national Gallup Poll surveys describe their political views as conservative, 35% as moderate, and 21% as liberal. This represents a slight increase for conservatism in the U.S. since 2008, returning it to a level last seen in 2004. The 21% calling themselves liberal is in line with findings throughout this decade, but is up from the 1990s.
These annual figures are based on multiple national Gallup surveys conducted each year, in some cases encompassing more than 40,000 interviews. The 2009 data are based on 10 separate surveys conducted from January through May. Thus, the margins of error around each year's figures are quite small, and changes of only two percentage points are statistically significant.

To measure political ideology, Gallup asks Americans to say whether their political views are very conservative, conservative, moderate, liberal, or very liberal. As has been the case each year since 1992, very few Americans define themselves at the extremes of the political spectrum. Just 9% call themselves "very conservative" and 5% "very liberal." The vast majority of self-described liberals and conservatives identify with the unmodified form of their chosen label.
