USA Ranks 27th in Social Justice

I live in the UK, you fucking moron. I don't need to 'move' anywhere. I live in a country that values 'social justice'... and you know what? They're in the fucking tank.

Stop fucking whining.

And we, apparently, don't value social justice in the US and are still in the tank. Guess "social justice" doesn't have much to do with "the tank" either way then does it? (Although Germany might disagree. They were able to survive their "tank" thanks in part to their social safety nets).
Social justice is about like "sustainability." It is meaningless. It can be measured any way you want, to a pre-determined result.
I am happy that a leftist think tank in Germany thinks we are lacking. Germany is a fucked up country and socialism is a fucked up system. We need to rank worse on that.
I am more concerned that we have slipped on the rank of economic freedom we have.

Behind fucking Mauritius. That's something to be concerned about.
Adam Smith was quite clear about how society's elites consolidated state power and used it for their own selfish ends. Today, "Economic Freedom" correlates to corporate control of government and justifies the rule of the richest 1%.

"Economist Adam Smith formed this theory in his influential work, The Wealth of Nations, in 1776. In 2012, his theory is measured – and proven – in the Index of Economic Freedom, an annual guide published by The Wall Street Journal and The Heritage Foundation, Washington's No. 1 think tank."

I was asked once by some Belgians why it is that the United States acts like it is so "special"? I was told that Americans act like they are above everyone else. I explained to them that it comes from our history, the way we view ourselves and our form of government. I explained to them that in America the individual is supreme. We believe that the creator has bestowed individual rights and that governments cannot alter them or remove them. As a result of this, we do not stand in line well. I explained to them that in America, if someone in charge told a group that they had to do this, you could count on the fact that automatically about 10% of the group would fight you tooth and nail NOT to do it. Even if you got no arguements, there would be some who just wouldn't do it. It's part of the way we are. Naturally, they didn't think that it was very condusive to an orderly society. I told them that they are right, we're not very 'orderly'. I told them about how Bill Clinton banned large magazines for weapons and almost immediately I knew guys who were manufacturing them in their tool sheds. There wasn't a decrease in their availablity, you could go to gun shows and buy them. These guys felt that the federal government couldn't tell them what to do. America is disorderly, loud, chaotic and demanding.

I wouldn't want it any other way.

In other words, you support an entitlement complex.

Entitlements? Uh, no. But if you're asking me if people have the 'right' to have what they want. Yep, if they work for it or if they pay for it. Like I've said before, unlike the left, I have no desire to take from you. I don't want to take from you and I don't want the government stealing from you in my name either.

As for the magazines, are they 'entitled' to them? There's several points. Kind of like moonshine really. You can ban it all you want and someone out there is going to make a buck by providing it. Secondly, the possession of firearms and how it is looked upon by the citizens are uniquely American. Like cars. Germany makes the Benz and it's a great car, but they have never understood the mystique of a '57 Chevy, 65 Mustang, or a 71 'Cuda. Likewise, you just couldn't explain the feeling of shooting a Colt Double Eagle or why anyone would want to own an AR-15. They don't get it and they never will.

I'm amazed I have to explain this...

"A foundation in Germany has analyzed the social justice records of all 31 members of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), ranking each nation in such categories as health care, income inequality, pre-school education, and child poverty.

"The overall performance by the United States — which boasts of being an egalitarian society — outranks only Greece, Chile, Mexico, and Turkey.

"Actually, three of those countries performed better than ours in the education of pre-schoolers, and Greece did better than the United States on the prevention of poverty."

Another example of the economic and political inequality built into this system that won't change by "choosing" between Mitt and Mutt next November.

What does social justice have to do with the fact that the US treats everyone the same?

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Define "social justice."

I define it as typical socialism ....

You know economic equality regardless of your education or investments.

The medical doctor or astrophysicist is treated the same as the ditch digger...

Geeze why become a medical doctor if you will be treated the same as the ditch digger??

No point if you get whats coming to you anyways...

Why better yourself if everything is a right regardless...

This seems like a good starting point:

"The fair and proper administration of laws conforming to the natural law that all persons, irrespective of ethnic origin, gender, possessions, race, religion, etc., are to be treated equally and without prejudice. See also civil rights.

What is social justice? definition and meaning

The term "social justice" in its modern sense was based on the teachings of St. Thomas Aquinas, not on Karl Marx. It was elaborated on by those who initiated the concept of a living wage, and it's part of Catholic social teaching, the Episcopalians' Social Gospel, and it's also one of the four pillars of the Green Party. Wiki has a good introduction, if you're interested.

Astrophysicists and MDs would not be paid the same as ditch diggers in all socialist systems; however, they would not be allowed to buy political favors in the same way the 1% currently do in this country.

What's the excuse for the richest country in history occupying the bottom of the OECD list in education, health care, and poverty, too much socialism or too much capitalism?

That was a truly sleazy attempt to equate Adam Smith and the free market with the kind of crony capitalism that liberals have been pushing since Teddy Roosevelt.

And how do you pretend to do any of that??

I suppose one would need to be authoritarian in nature to DICTATE in such a fashion to make YOUR utopia valid???

Maybe letting people be who they are and live how they want to live is a better idea??

As I've already explained, that is the definition of justice, not social justice. Unless you can distinguish "social justice" from ordinary "justice," you haven't defined it.

You mean "social justice" would cancel the !st Amendment?

The reason we are the riches country in history is the fact that we haven't swirled down the same welfare state "social justice" sewer as fast as the other countries on your list.

That was the Founders Idea. Liberty of the individual...not the group.

Progressives are quite the collectivists.....

Let me guess, you believe that if public education was eliminated that no private schools would spring up to replace them?
I think it's more likely corporate schools would take public education's place.

Yes, exactly, and unlike the government schools they would have to perform or go out of business.
How does the profit motive enhance educational opportunities for those who can barely afford public education?

What role would the state have in establishing standards of educational achievement, if any?

If Google or Microsoft established non-profit educational subsidiaries, that might be an improvement; if Enron or Lehman Brothers became directly involved in educating children, the results could potentially be much worse.

Good. I'd like to see us lower but it's a start.

Lower?

40% of all births in the US have only one parent in the house.

How much further into the abyss must we sink?

I didn't say I'd like to see more one parent households. 'Social Justice' is just a re-branding of 'socialism'. It has been re-branded to make it more palatable to those of us who value freedom.

'Social Justice' can kiss my ass.

I don't believe it! An honest conservative!

It's nice to hear one finally admit that they consider justice in a society to be socialist!

How does the profit motive enhance the produce on display at your local supermarket? Only a libturd would ask a question like that. Private corporations don't make profits if they don't please their customers. That's what makes private enterprise superior to government. The lack of the profit motive is precisely the reason why government schools suck.

What role would the state have in establishing standards of educational achievement, if any?

None, if I had my why. Government "standards" are just a means for special interest groups to drive up the price of their services and keep competitors from entering the market.

If Google or Microsoft established non-profit educational subsidiaries, that might be an improvement; if Enron or Lehman Brothers became directly involved in educating children, the results could potentially be much worse.

The fact that those are the only two scenarios you can imagine is utterly pathetic. The market will test a thousand different scenarios and consumers will decide which are the best.

I've never encountered a conservative who claimed otherwise.

"Social justice" is just a leftwing scam.

Wrong again, dittohead. You people are against reforming our ridiculously expensive, cruel, and corrupt health "system" and continue the Reaganist policies that ended in insane wars and depression. Change the channel, ya brainwashed morons LOL!
