There is no diffrent between an individual spending money on healthcare and the government spending money on helathcare.Spending money on healthcare is always a drain. It is throwing money out of the window. However when the government controls the healthcare, the spending gets lower. For instance France spends 9.7% of GDP on HC and has a much much better healthcare system than USA.

Total expenditure on health as % of GDP statistics - countries compared - NationMaster Health

For instance a rich person spending money on plastic surgery is a massive socioeconomic loss. It would have been a lot better if he put his money into for instance a export industry. As a nation it would be wise if the government can cut healtcare spending so that more money can be directed into creating real private sector jobs. At the same time government HC will relief the burden on companies that isnt competitive internationally because of HC covering.

So the best way is to make it free, then HC spending will be cut and more money directed into creating jobs.

Is inarguable that the USA has the least efficent health care delivery system in the first world.

And one of our major political parties is willing to fight to the death to keep it that way. Amazing. Even more amazing is that they consider themselves fiscal conservatives.

:lmao:

Government can not make healthcare free. It's also been said for every other instance govt. gets involved in market enterprise. Student loans, housing, etc...they do not make things more affordable or free. They break what they touch.

No thanks.

Obviously some governemnts can, but ours cannot.

But we are the best in the world right?

Well at least ours is the best government that money can buy.

If you're referring to the eurozone and surrounding nation socializd medicine, in case you missed it, they have a massive insolvency problem. But I suppose that is from fighting too many wars over seas....oh, wait...

Define "free"

For the most part, I agree with your assessment; however, please do not use the word free when discussing healthcare, because it is not free, it is paid for indirectly through taxes and everyone pays. That does not necessarily make it a bad thing, but still, it is not free.

Here is where you miss the point. Their insolvency problems are not due to healthcare spending. Their healthcare spending is substantially less than ours.

And other countries healthcare spending is less because those countries' governments negotiate their healthcare prices with the healthcare industry, thus holding down prices.
So, the healthcare industry makes up for their reduced profits worldwide, by sticking it to Americans. And some people gladly accept paying around double what the rest of the world pays because it's free market gouging. :eusa_clap:
