I saw news article that said 11 ships were allowed in by Egypt and I just wanted to know if anyone else heard about it.

Carrier groups sometimes transit through the canal to get from the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean, or vice versa. We need Egypt's permissing to do this, as they own the canal. In other words, it is routine.
