The United States on Friday voted against a United Nations Security Council draft resolution that would have condemned Israeli settlements as illegal. The veto by the U.S., a permanent council member, prevented the resolution from being adopted.

The other 14 Security Council members voted in favor of the draft resolution. But the U.S., as one of five permanent council members with the power to block any action by the Security Council, struck it down.

The resolution had nearly 120 co-sponsors, exclusively Arab and other non-aligned nations.

The Obama administration’s veto is certain to anger Arab countries and Palestinian supporters around the world.

Oh well, Quelle surprise. More hypocrisy under the guise of not upsetting the discredited peace process (in the wake of the revelations from Wikileaks).

No surprise. We were cool with Hitler and Rwanda, too

The bottom line is this: America hates ragheads even more than it hates kikes

That's why we said nothing when Hitler wanted an Aryan homeland and we'll pay to help the Zionists create a pure Jewish state. Maybe then we can send all the Jews there and finish what we started in the 20s.

USA!USA!USA!...

I was wondering how to work a Hitler comparison in there myself, but since the UN didn't exist then and the US wasn't in the League of Nations it didn't seem relevant.

It just strikes me as utterly stupid to have allowed this diplomatic foot shooting excersize to have emerged at a time when the whole middle east is in foment and when the aim of the game should be to minimize the chance of islamic fundamentalists hijacking the scene rather than so far (apparently) secular groups taking over.

Doing Business in Israel -- U.S. Commercial Service Israel

This track is not an attack upon the American people
It is an attack upon the system within which they live
Since 1945 the united states has attempted to
Overthrow more than 50 foreign governments
In the process the us has caused the end of life
For several million people, and condemned many millions
More to a live of agony and despair

[Verse 1]
The strength of your dreamin
Prevents you from reason
The American dream
Only makes sense if youre sleepin

Its just a cruel fantasy
Their politics took my voice away
But their music gave it back to me

The land where their __? Or consumed by consumption
Killing themselves to shovel down food and abundance
I guess a rapper from Britain is a rare voice
America is capitalism on steroids

Natives kept in casinos and reservations
Displaced slaves never given reparations
Take everything from Native Americans
And wonder why I call it the racist experiment

Afraid of your melanin
The same as its ever been
That aint gonna change
With the race of the president

I see imperialism under your skin tone
You could call it Christopher Columbus syndrome

[Chorus 2x]
Is it Obamas nation or an abomination?
Is it Obamas nation or an abomination?
Is it Obamas nation or an abomination?
Doesn't make any difference when they bomb your nation

O! Say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through perilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming

[Verse 2]
The worlds entertainer
The worlds devastator
From Venezuela
To Mesopotamia

Your cameras lie
Cause they have to hide the savage crimes

Committed on leaders that happen
To try and nationalize

Eating competitions while the worlds been starvin
Beat up communism with the help of bin-laden
Where would your war of terror be without that man
Every day you create more Nidal Hassans

Kill a man from the military, youre a weirdo
But kill a wog from the Middle East youre a hero
Your country is causing screams that are never reaching ear holes
America inflicted a million ground zeros

Follow the dollar and swallow your humanity
Soldiers committing savagery you never even have to see
Those mad at me, writing in emails angrily
Im not anti-America, America is anti-me

[Chorus 2x]
Is it Obamas nation or an abomination?
Is it Obamas nation or an abomination?
Is it Obamas nation or an abomination?
Doesn't make any difference when they bomb your nation

And the rocket's red glare,
The bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there,

O! Does that star spangled banner yet wave
O'er land of the free and the home of the brave

[Verse 3]
I don't care if him and Cheney are long lost relations
What matters more is the policies I lost my patience
Stop debating bringing race into conversation
Occupation and cooperation equals profit makin

Its over - people wake up from the dream now
Nobel peace prize, jay z on speed dial
Its the substance within, not the colour of your skin
Are you the puppeteer or the puppet on the string

So many believe that they was instantly gonna change
There was still Dennis Ross, Brzezinski And Robert Gates
What happened to Chas freeman (APAC),
What happened to Tristan Anderson its a machine that keeps that man breathing

I have the heart to say what all the other rappers arent
Words like Iraq, Palestine - Afghanistan
The wars on, and you morons were all wrong
I call Obama a bomber Cause those are your bombs

You assume to much if you think the US has the power to stop a vote like this from happening at all.

I agree and they wonder why the Islamic countries hate us, we are supposed to be a nations with no preference for religion and or religious states. I guess we feel we are right and the rest of the world are a bunch of dead wrong anti-Semites.

You are right. All sorts of machinations go on in the background (i.e. the 120 odd who proposed this vote doing so knowing exactly that the US would vote as it would, but that would be giving them too much organizational credibility, and would be delving into conspiracy theories). However, although I don't know how long this thing was in the pipeline, or exactly how the UN works, it seems that some delaying tactic could and should have been employed to stop this vote having been taken today. It's nuts.

wow, I am startled.....Obama actually displayed some back bone, kudo's, I have to give it up to him. I didn't think he would block it.:clap2:

Let's say Israel did withdraw from disputed territories. Would that result in peace? If it did, I'd be the first to encourage that. I just don't know whether or not it would result in peace. It may; I suppose it might be worth trying.

Israel shouldn't be there in the first place, we went to war in 1991 to kick Iraq out of Kuwait, but say its ok for Zionists to occupy the territories of others.

More like he bowed down to his Zionist masters.

no, he just would not let a place like the UN basically adjudicate the pali-Israeli settlement issue.

That’s not negotiation.
