The United States pledged $5.8 billion in aid and investment Tuesday for strengthening government and economic development in Central America, and another $4.8 billion in development aid for southern Mexico.... The U.S aid aims to promote better security conditions and job opportunities as part of a regional plan to allow Central Americans and Mexicans to remain in their countries and not have to emigrate.... The plan was announced in a joint U.S.-Mexican statement released by the State Department and read aloud by Mexican Foreign Relations Secretary Marcelo Ebrard in the Mexican capital.

Hmm...., $10 BILLION (of American taxpayer money given supposedly given away to citizens of other countries..
Yet, our elected representatives in D.C. cannot “afford” to give US working American taxpayers a tax cut. Time to drain that swamp, burn down DC and fumigate all the corrupt rats who live there.
Foreign Aid has not been proven helpful in Central and South America, it has had a net NEGATIVE effect. It's U.S. bureaucrats irresponsibly sending taxpayer dollars to corrupt leaders who clearly have a Leftist agendas. Just another reminder that Marxist Socialism is not for the Socialists. This is a complete waste of America's taxpayer money especially when it is used to support this socialist lunacy.
Where's Pompeo on this travesty of government stupidity? Just imagine the impenetrable wall we can build to $10.8 billion.

The definition of Foreign Aid:
Taxing poor people in rich countries, to give the money to rich people in poor countries.

Can't the Great Douche take that money and build an old defeated failed 12th-century solution wall design, and call it the Great Orange Douche WALL in the 21th-century that's defeated already?

The wall is going to be built...the people get what they want..they always do...
:cuckoo: But this is all you will get. Seems it won't work with all them HOLES/SPACES.

Why can't we fine and jail the people (American whities mostly) who hire them, for billions in profit?

According to one human rights activist, the announced aid actually offers far less than the State Department statement indicates:

"Don't get too excited about "$10.6 billion in aid to #Mexico and #CentralAmerica." It's nearly all private-sector loans and guarantees. Money that has to be paid back—not assistance. The rest is aid that the U.S. was giving anyway. The U.S. Strategy for Central America and Southern Mexico

Everyone remember that famous line from Trump’s campaign? “We’re NOT going to build a wall, and I’m going to give Mexico $5 billion!”

MAGA!

Let's hope so. If we gave 10 billion in foreign aid to Central America and Southern Mexico all we would have to show for it is much better equipped thugs and much richer government officials. Our track record for nation building is abysmal.

It's not our fault the rest of the world is comprised of mainly criminals. We try to help them and they just continue being criminals.

Perhaps you'd prefer the proposed Democrat solution of fences?

That is so they can pay for the wall.

Right?

Don;t worry too much about it. Even without a wall, Mexico is paying far more than a measly $5 billion dollars.

6 Ways Trump Changed NAFTA

Mexico hasn’t contributed a single penny or peso to the wall. The part that has been spent has been US Taxpayer money.
