The media claims they are more engaged in the upcoming election. But, does that mean they’ll actually go ahead and vote? They get pushed to register but does that mean they know who’s running or what for?

This election has been billed as one in which young people form a powerful voting bloc, propelled by the momentum generated by school shootings earlier in the year, and mobilised by celebrities like Taylor Swift and Rihanna. But will they turn up on the day?

1. Millennials are more politically engaged

2. But they usually don't bother to actually vote

3. Politics has been, well, depressing

[If it isn’t fun and uplifting, will that get them on the move?]

4. Activism after Parkland

[But, that was some time ago]

5. The celebrity effect

All the so-called “expert opinion” @ Will young people bother to vote in US?

Millennials will vote more Republican than they have been and Gen Zers will be more split than Democrats expected.

I know the younger ones around here are largely Republican and make fun of the ones slightly older than them. (The "blue hairs".)
