Congressmen from both parties are issuing support for direct negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians and urging the Obama administration to refrain from taking action at the United Nations over the decades-old conflict.

A “sense of” resolution adopted by the House of Representatives on Tuesday night put a majority of members on record in favor of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations that lead “to a sustainable two-state solution,” and against efforts at the UN Security Council that would “impose a solution” on the parties.

It's a new world in which Democrats and Republicans once again are united behind Israel. Bye bye Barry. You won't be missed.

And how would the arab muslims react if the UN did impose a solution they did not like, would they issue a fatwah against the obama's ?

Would be a nice parting gesture on President Obama's part; some way towards actually earning his Nobel prize. Still nothing will happen, the Zionist entity has never wanted peace since before it's inception, it needs conflict so it can steal more land with impunity. The U.N. is powerless in any event, Zionist Israel ignores international law and gets away with it because of the U.S. veto.

I'll go with 4.5 / 5.0 for your use of conspiracy theory prattle mixed with a tear-jerking appeal to silly slogans and clichés.

The UN can't impose a "solution". The resolution, if passed, would only set the UN's present view of what a "solution" should look like. It would not be binding on anyone, it would merely attempt to influence the debate. If Obama should allow it to pass, it will be his view of how things should be but not the US view, since Congress is already overwhelmingly opposed to it and on Jan. 21 the Executive branch will be as well.

Here we go again with rat boy making the unsubstantiated anti semitic claims of Israel stealing land. Name one piece of land that Israel has stolen that was not granted to them under International law. What international laws has Israel ignored giving details such as time, date, place, law ignored and date of implementation of said law. As he knows the ICC/ICJ is not covered by the same restrictions as the General Council and so the US does not have a veto on their actions. Now if Israel had been as naughty as he claims they would have faced investigation by the ICC/ICJ and possible charges in open court.

THE FACTS AS DETAILED IN THE UN CHARTER AND THE INTERNATIONAL LAWS MAKE HIM A LIAR AND A PROPAGANDIST

If international law can giveth, then international can taketh away, no?

I would go with imposing UK law on this flotsam that removes him from the internet and sees him charged with terrorist offences and getting a long jail sentence

It would certainly show all those people who believed Obama had nothing useful to contribute that they were right.

It would be nice if we came out and said no foreign aid to either side until you children grow up and figure out your little squabble

And Israel would welcome that as it would leave them free to trade with who they want. It would also cost America a lot of money in future research and development costs when Israel is not shouldering 90% of them

NO as to do so would be against the UN charter. and be a clear indication of the UN's racial bias

Great then they should push for it to happen.

No, it would be much better to say something intelligent.
My comment's as close to intelligent as it gets in these Israel/Palestine threads.
Perhaps it is as close to intelligent as you can get. There is no political entity among the Palestinians that can credibly offer peace to Israel and it is unlikely there will be in the foreseeable future, so talk about reaching a final status agreement (with whom?) is nonsense.

This being the case, the best anyone can reasonably hope for is increased cooperation between Israel and those elements among the Palestinians who want to live in peace with Israel. This kind of cooperation happens everyday in Israel's communities in Judea and Samaria, where tens of thousands of Palestinians go to work and earn from two to six times what they otherwise would. Far from being obstacles to peace as some claim, thee communities are oases of peace in the otherwise violent Arab society. Palestinians not only work in these communities, but they also shop there, and Israelis shop in many of the Arab villages nearby.

These people, Israelis and Palestinians are establishing real peace on the ground through daily mutually beneficial transactions. If a more comprehensive peace is to grow between the Israelis and the Palestinians, it will be through these kinds of mutually beneficial transactions and not because of the ravings of the Palestinians leaders or the EU or UN or Obama administration.

That's what the Apartheid apologists said.

More likely the islamocatholics or the islamonazi's said it
