US hands over key Iraq province

shhhhhh you can't take about success in Iraq !

Right? Sorry if I couldn't shit on Palin some more but the leftgoobs seem to have 3-5 threads for everything they can spin covered nicely.

And yeah, looks like Obama's thunder's being stolen. Drawing down in Iraq is proceeding without him.

let's hope there are some left that he can yank home, IF he wins.

Are you kidding? The drawdown is being implemented NOW. Is it in the news? No. Photoshopped pics of Palin are.

The Democrats are already rewriting how this "actually" happened in case they get control and get another chance to alter actual history.

You mean like they were "for" before the were "against before they were "for before the were---------
As long as you are on the right side after it's all over maybe no one will notice.

This is a great sign, although clearly there is much to be done in Iraq, the change in Anbar province is impressive. The fact that virtually all 25,000 US troops will remain in the province diminishes the significance some, however.

this wouldnt be happening had the dems done what they said they would do when they got elected in 06
this goes for obama too

Well, I hope that successes in Anbar can be implemented in other provinces.
What happened in Anbar was, iirc, a combination of a troop surge and active cooperation with local sheiks, as well as Al-Quaida alienating the populace. The history of defeated Guerillias (f.e. malaysia) shows that cooperation between the population and the occupying forces is usually key.

I hope we can pull out. But the blame is not the dems, it's those who were in control of this war from the beginning. 5+ years later, they are finally getting it together.

How many do overs before it's not a real success. The Surge alone is only part of the reason for success.

Let's not even talk about the fact we never had to be there in the first place.

Oh, funny how it fits into Obama's proposed timeline that the right mocked.

1) Strategies changed as we never fought this type of 'war' in this type of theater.
2) We SHOULD have been there in the first place and it SHOULD have been done long before it was.
3) The surge is not the only reason. Iraq finally growing to the point where they can take care of much more of their own duties also means a lot in this success. This does not take away from the importance of the surge, though.
4) Funny, even 'if' it fits what Obama has said, they key is it happens without pre-notice so that the terrorist scum do not have a chance to bulk up and attack at the moments beginning the withdraw and redeploy.

Col Mustard is a political hack. If the Dems had gotten a surge then he would be explaining how this was a BIG success.

Technically.. we will never know.. Maybe we would be turning over the whole country and not just one province.. Maybe you can dig into that pocket of yours and write a check for the useless billions spent.. maybe you can dig into that soul bank of yours and send back some of our boys that died fighting your bullshit war.. maybe, just maybe, since you claim to be the pro arms party, you could dig into your arms bag and replace a few tens of thousands of those that have been amputated.. cause like your failed party and thousands of our soldiers.. you dont have two legs to stand on...

Congratulations btw to those soldiers left that were able to hand over the provence...

uh, this was not possible to do by Obama set deadline, so had we done as Obama wanted, this would not have been done

of course. The Dems didn't promise in 2006 they'd cut off funding for the war and backed down when called on it.

Face it, it doesn't matter which party holds power in Congress. Neither will do anything but maintain the status quo.
