It is too early to tell what damage Brexit will cause to the British economy. Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty which begins the official notification to other European Union (EU) member states must be invoked before the terms of Britain's withdrawal and that has not yet happened. Before that can happen, the House of Commons must debate and pass legislation enabling the government to begin negotiations with the 27 other EU states. The House of Lords too must be consulted and their lordships will not give an easy time to a government which has not indicated what is its plan in negotiating with the EU. The English people have put Britain on a road to ruin. Scotland wants no part of it and prefers to remain in the EU. It looks like the Scots might be voting again whether to stay with England in a United Kingdom.
