A longtime ally of President Barack Obama, Congressman Danny K. Davis [D-IL] was in Chicago recently accepting the Social Justice Award from People’s World, a Communist-based website.

The editorial mission is partisan to the working class, people of color, women, young people, seniors, LGBT community, to international solidarity; to popularize the ideas of Marxism and Bill of Rights socialism. The websites enjoy a special relationship with the Communist Party USA, founded in 1919, and publish its news and views.

I noticed the genocide of American Indians was left off..as was the enslavement of Africans.

Where's the Filipino genocide? Or the one in Vietnam and Laos? Why was the Cambodian Genocide solely blamed on Pol Pot?

Indians were wiped out by disease.

Besides which, are there any political candidates getting money from those who killed Indians or captured slaves?

I didn't think so. Retard. Negged for presumptively thinking you had a valid point.

hahahaha!!! Genocide of American INDIANS????

Do you KNOW there are NOW more of US American Indians ALIVE and live LONGER then when the "geneocides" supposedly occurred?

Explain to me WHAT methodically effort to destroy US American Indians occurred specifically with directions from the Government and Presidents as did with Stalin and Mao?

NONE of the crap you FEEL occurred NEVER approached the magnitude NOR
effectiveness of Mao/Stalin!

NOW for FACTS above...
Estimating the number of Native Americans living in what is today the United States of America before the arrival of the European explorers and settlers has been the subject of much debate.
In 1965, the American anthropologist Henry Dobyns published studies estimating the original population to have been 10 to 12 million. By 1983, he increased his estimates to at the MOST 18 million.

As of 2010 American Indians were 0.9% of 311,591,917 OR: 2.9 million

It doesn't matter because it's completely irrelevant. There is no organization today that sanctions the killing of Indians, as far as I'm aware, and certainly there are no politicians receiving big bucks from any such organization.

People's World has not murdered anyone. Obama has not received any awards from Stalin or Mao.

Yep. Indians were given blankets infected with Smallpox by Europeans. They were also massacred by people like General George Custer.

You have no idea about, history, do you? Negged in the hope you will pick up a book. :D

Yes, I do. Which is why I'm laughing at you.

The MAJORITY of Indians who died fell to disease...not from infected blankets, and not from Custer.

Neither Mao or Stalin engaged in systematically killing massive amounts of people either. Both countries were involved in a double hit..

In Russia's case, they were a newly minted government after overthrowing the Tsars and having to deal with the Nazi invasion.

In China's case, they were actively involved in a civil war and had to deal with the Japanese invasion.

You guys are attributing deaths caused by those things to Communism. It's historically inaccurate and is intellectually infantile.

A better case could be made about the failure of Mao's plan to turn over privately owned farms to a bunch of kids. That led to famine..and a mass die off. Same with Stalin's five year plan.

And "excusing" America's systematic slaughter of the American Indian, as well as such events in the Phillippines and Vietnam doesn't help either.

Yeah....they sound downright-scary.

So, you Teabaggers are tryin' to support/endorse a Porky Limbaugh II, huh?

"Here at RedState, we too have drawn a line. We will not endorse any candidate who will not reject the judicial usurpation of Roe v. Wade and affirm that the unborn are no less entitled to a right to live simply because of their size or their physical location. Those who wish to write on the front page of RedState must make the same pledge. The reason for this is simple: once before, our nation was forced to repudiate the Supreme Court with mass bloodshed. We remain steadfast in our belief that this will not be necessary again, but only if those committed to justice do not waiver or compromise, and send a clear and unmistakable signal to their elected officials of what must be necessary to earn our support."

“There is no way for us, as militiamen, to save this country, to save Georgia, without doing something that’s highly, highly illegal: murder,” said one of the accused terrorists, Frederick Thomas.

A ThinkProgress examination of Thomas’s online writing in the following years shows that the alleged terrorist grew more and more upset, and expressed sympathy with the anti-Obama conspiracies posted on RedState.

The other blog Thomas mentions in his RedState comment is apparently the militia website run by Mike Vanderboegh, who gained infamy for calling for violence over the health reform bill and for writing an online series advocating a new civil war against President Obama. ThinkProgress has covered Vanderboegh, who recently signed up as a commentator for Fox News."

Why are you guys playing this game? The OP made an assertion that was simply non-factual. There's no need to play "your side does it too."

The claim is that Congressman Davis received an award from an organization that committed mass murder (never mind the exact number of victims). That claim is false. End of story.

You can laugh all you want. But that was a "disease" brought by Europeans. And in any case, Indians were forcibly removed from land, herded into defacto concentration camps where many perished.

I suppose "The Trail of Tears" never happened either..eh?

Look, the fascist extremists are defending wholesale slaughter of one's own people.

Aren't they cute.

What game?

I don't like the history cleansing.

It makes for repetition..of guess what?

The very same history.

I should have know the title was an outright lie. No indication that this organization has committed any crime whatsoever.

Healthmyths didn't bring up the genocide against Native Americans, though. You did.

Death by disease is not GENOCIDE you nitwit.

Kindly don't spout Indian history at me. My kids are native, and I'm raising a third...and I have a good working knowledge of the history based on my work as a beat reporter covering a reservation and my lifelong interaction and close proximity to the reservation and their culture.
