If the world is going to be hanging on America's coat tails for the foreseeable future, these countries are never, ever going to improve their lot. Or evolve beyond a barter/tribal/warrior caste. I hope America likes paying for everyone.

The alternative is to sit back, let them fight their wars (without anything terribly sophisticated in terms of military hardware) and to wait for them to reach some form of enlightenment

No. The US Military is for the common defense and not for enforcing immigration laws or any illegal War On Terror or other such nonsense. Enforcement of our immigration, employment and document fraud laws begins AT THE WORKPLACE and not out there on the border. Almost half of the illegal aliens come here using worker visas and guest visas and student visas and simply stay and steal a job from a real American. That only works if someone is willing to break the law and hire them 'and' if our many law enforcement officers continue looking the other way in a corrupt society.

The Obama Administration is supposed to be enforcing our laws and they choose not to do so and Congress looks the other way and the states bring no suits and look the other way as well down to the local sheriff and the dog catcher. Everyone knows illegal aliens are driving on our streets and killing 25 citizens every day and they do nothing about it. However, to waste your time putting soldiers on the border is STUPIDITY, when everyone in Govt is looking the other way.

Since we're overpopulated anyway, and the Aids pandemic isn't working as well as it used to, better to let nature continue unmolested. If that plays itself out as man's reliance on his hunter/killer instincts, then so be it. It works almost as well as mass disease or a lack of food.

US troops on the border would work because sooner or later, the troops of both countries would clash bringing us into a war against Mexico which must happen in order to remove their evil influence in the US.

We cannot allow a third world country/people to control the future of the United States. PERIOD!

Always undermanned, the US Army again found that immobile defensive positions and sparse patrolling of the immense border region could not possibly stop border incursions when instability returned to the border region in the 1870s and 1880s.

Most often, swift cross-border strikes on enemy sanctuaries by the US Army or major police actions by the Mexican Army on its side of the border were the only viable means of stopping cross-border raids.

While US Army raids across the border ultimately proved successful, they rekindled Mexican hostility toward the United States. The most notable among these many cross-border operations by the Army was the 1916–17 Pershing expedition that sought to destroy Pancho Villa’s forces that had been conducting attacks on US territory.

This report proved that the United States defense against invading Mexico worked when the US Army took an active roll and persued those who attacked the US into Mexico rather than try to defend a 2,000 mile border.

If every American was reminded of his duty to repel these foreign invaders instead of collaborating with them, the world would be safe from these criminals whose goal is to dominate the races of the world in the western hemisphere.
