To my personal friends and relatives:

This is not a letter promising you some miraculous windfall, but a way to get this important idea out to everyone in the country quickly.

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only
3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That
was in 1971...before computers, before e-mail, before cell phones, etc.

Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to
become the law of the land...all because of public pressure.

I'm asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.

proposed constitutional amendment

Congressional Reform Act of 2012

1. No Tenure / No Pension.
A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when
they are out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security
system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system,
and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for
any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans
do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay
will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the
same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American
people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective
1/1/13.

8. Term Limit to: Senators for 2 Terms and Congress for 3 Terms

The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen.
Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is
an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen
legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to
work.

If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take
three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Maybe it
is time.

THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!!!!!
If you agree with the above, pass it on.
You are one of my 20+. Please keep it going.

Items 1-5 are irrelevant as the salary of there position is a token and nothing more. We had a candidate in California spend over a million dollars of her own money trying to get elected to a position that pays 75k a year.

Item 6. Congress already swears an oath of office. It is just no longer enforced. I say we bring back accountability and return to publicly hanging national traitors.

Item 7. Why not just void the spending bills that are unconstitutional? The president already has this power, its supposed to be one of his strongest powers. The problem is the presidents themselves are unconstitutional.

Item 8. What your talking about is another federal mandate. Your talking about erosion of the peoples rights to elect anyone they want in office. This mentality ties back into items 1-5 and totally misses the real problem, which is item 7, with regards to congress and senate. This idea sounds good on the surface because congress and the senate are filled with traitorous pigs, but it is really just less freedom.

Seems to me that people just keep trying to force the system to work in an automated way, so none has to watch it, so no public oversight is needed. I say most of our problems stem from a lazy and complacent public. Only totalitarian governments need no public involvement.

I'm good with this. But it'll never happen. The foxes are in charge of the henhouse, and they're not going to give it up.

Of course your good with it. Its liberalism. 'how can I expand the powers and complexity of government to make it serve me, without having to get off my ass and actually do something myself'

'I know, lets write more laws that restrict freedom in an attempt to produce more equality and freedom'

Etc. Biggest problem with modern day liberals on both sides of the spectrum is that they all have hands out to the government to provide for them instead of looking for how they can help themselves.

Listen, shit-for-brains, you seriously lack the horsepower to contradict me about my own views. I suggest you stop.

If you'd ever read any of my posts, you'd know I'm a small-government conservative.

Moron.

Ive read tons of your posts. Your a corporate liberal. A NEOCON. A fool. Your a liberal with your hand out looking for the government to provide. You just think its cooler to support rich corporate power then the poor like the liberals in the democrat party.

In short, you sir are a tool.

Ahh....dissension in the ranks. A microcosm of what has happened to your party as a whole.

I see you and WaterOnTheBrain share reading comprehension problems.

Hey if you leftists want the corporate liberals you can have them. They are only a liability to Republicans, where incase you havent been paying attention, Ron Paul is bringing conservatism right back to the top.
