Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-Texas), who abruptly resigned as head of Tea Party group FreedomWorks, brought in an assistant with a gun in an apparent coup attempt at the group, according to a report in the Washington Post.

Armey claims to have been "unaware" that Singleton had a gun at the meeting. "[Singleton] kept it under his coat in the back....But the news looks like Armey came in there like John Dillinger, all guns a-blazing.

So there exists, literally, a Dick Army??

lol, I always thought that was just a pretty good pun...

Oh, gawd, the VISUAL!!!

For his coup, Dick Armey used a guy they hired for security before so they were all laughing at him.

In the wake of Wayne LaPierre's looney press conference, Dick Armey is exposed as a gun-empowered extortionist

Armey is a grifter. He's a "looser" who, along with the rest of the GObP, has just just been handed his ass.

Seriously, when its all added up, we're watching a true implosion of what is left of the GOP and much of the shit that is being flung will land at Mitch McConnell's door. The next few weeks will be very interesting.

Again to you, your ignorance is bliss. Do you question the armed guard(s) that follow Reid, Pelosi, and Schumer around everywhere they go? That does not include the other Democrats both active in Washington and out of D.C., many of them have hired armed body guards to follow them wherever they go. Undoubtedly you'd also have an armed guard with you, if you had reveived all the death threats Dick Armey has.

rw's give a whole new meaning to "ignorance is bliss".

Its not just Mother Jones or libs who are reporting this attempted and failed coup.

The tea party starts out claiming to be some sort of grass roots anti-establishment politicial movement.

The biggest Tea Party group, Freedomworks, ends up being run by Dick Armey, who is as perfect an example of an establishment politician as there is.

I hope you suckers enjoy Dick Armey enjoying your money.

Bought and paid for by the Kochs.

No wonder the rw's are too embarrassed to be seen on this thread.

Way bigger than merely EPIC FAIL.

FreedomWorks, along with several other supposedly grassroots organizations, are pretty good money makers for a select group of people who pony up for big salaries despite questionable contributions to the conservative movement.

Barack Obama's election was the best thing that ever could have happened as far as these groups are concerned. It's more likely that these groups have whipped up the fear of their members for capitalistic motivations as opposed to any professed love of country. Hell, Armey was making $500,000 a year (plus expenses) as the head of FW compared to his salary of less than $175,000 a year while in the House of Representatives.

"Former FreedomWorks chairman Dick Armey says the conservative outlet that helped launch the Tea Party paid Glenn Beck at least $1 million last year to fundraise for the organization, an arrangement he said provided "too little value" for the money."
