Since we settled the debt left from the 2nd World War only one president has actually bought back any part of the principal on the national debt.....Bill Clinton, about $400 billion.

The debt is so much that now the annual interest has grown to nearly half a trillion dollars...second only to the annual defense budget:

Didn't you start a thread about this last week??

Spend some more whydonchya?

Just wanted to be sure all Republicans are well versed in the detailed numbers and aren't listening to FAUX NEWS.............LOL!! Small Chance!!

the only one who ISN't listening is the spender in chief.. maybe he should watch a little fox news instead of just listening to his choir boys.. then we might get somewhere. now go change your diaper you stink

Can you Lefties grasp what it means if we allow Owebama to quadruple our National debt in 10 years as the CBO is projecting?

We currently pay 9% of our budget for debt service.. Best case, that would rise to 36% of our ENTIRE FEDERAL BUDGET OUTLAY.

Debt Rises Times Five
The Congressional Budget Office projects that annual interest payments on the federal debt, currently less than $200 billion, will rise to nearly $1 trillion by 2020. Some economists warn that CBO's numbers are too optimistic and that the problem could end up being much worse.

Mother of God.

Is that why Dems are criminally irresponsible in not passing a budget in three years?

Maybe yesterday. So far Republicans still say Clinton didn't settle any of the debt......but he did.

Maybe yesterday. So far Republicans still say Clinton didn't settle any of the debt......but he did.

Clinton vetoed the responsible budgets forced upon him by the Republicans until he had no choice.

If Clinton had had his way, he would have destroyed our budgets with Hillarycare.

Now that you have your facts straight, you may continue embarrassing yourself.

Oh that meany Obama. Had to spend all that damn money trying to bail us out of the economic disaster George Bush created.

Trick question for the Rethugs; name the last Rethug President that reduced the National Debt.

Hell name the last Rethug President that had us owing less money when he left office than when he entered into office.

You rethugs do like to lead by example. Don't ya? Or is it just Dems debt that is the issue?

Oh snipper, it is so wonderful to meet someone that has the ability to go back in time and discern just what shoulda woulda coulda happened.

Where do you get this skill. This ability to see into the past and determine that what happened was not what was supposed to happen?

Quite amazing actually. Bull shit. Amazing bull shit.

Oh that meany Obama. Had to spend all that damn money trying to bail us out of the economic disaster George Bush created.

There isn't a pundit, analyst or economist that I know of who tells us Obama has us on a pathway other than certain banana republic destruction.

Worst ever.

Facts got you down?

It was Clinton's rush to destroy our budgets with Hillarycare that freaked the voting public out and gave America its first Republican Congress in 40 years.

The result of Republicans taking Congress for the first time in 40 years?

America enjoyed the budget success put forth by the OP.

OK...what happened when Bush cut taxes twice, 2001 and 2003 while the Republicans still had a majority in the congress...............................

You're full of schit. Reagan started all this crap in 1981 when he cut taxes for the wealthiest Americans and began to borrow from foreign banks to cover the shortfall. George W. Bush repeated the same mistake...plus starting two wars....one totally by choice. Iraq had no part in 9-11, they had no WMD's and they had never had a suicide bombing until after we invaded their country 10,000 miles from home.

Federal tax receipts went on to hit new record highs, of course, just as planned!

You are overmatched here.

And George Bush managed to spend every dollar of increase plus how many billions more?

You think the debt just magically apperaed when Obama was elected. Come on, tell the truth, you are so stupid you think George Bush left a budget surplus and Obama spent it all and then some. Right?
