How can do say "you can't even compare the two"? The United states is now doing the same things that the Soviet Union was doing. It's amazing how so many people want to dismiss the types of things happening in other places.

It's "our politicians" and governmental agencies that are enabling all the horror and violence taking place in other countries just as the Soviet Union was doing.

If you want to look outside America and see what Hillary Clinton and Obama have done to the people of Libya,Syria, Iraq, and Honduras it fits your definition completely for "real Gulags" what you mentioned is precisely what is happening to those people's: "The real Gulags were filled with people who just spoke out , or ratted out by someone else for speaking out against the government and then pulled out of their beds in the middle of the night, no trial. Back in the day that's how it was".

This articles was posted due to a television broadcast just happened to see about kids who were incarcerated for small insignificant stuff such as cutting class or under age drinking or being caught with a joint. These juveniles lives were being ruined because many of the parents were non-assertive until a coupe of parents with strong love for their son challenged the system of basically kidnapping children, and fought against what was happening to them.

It was learned that the two judges that were channeled American youth into privatized penal institutions were paid a million dollars a piece to enslave American young people. The two judges had fallen into their own trap and were sentenced not to indefinite detention but given long sentences. This just happened to be one exception to the rule. Usually corruption for most of the judges and politicians bribed from many different types of corporations is something no one ever finds out about.

The government salary given to the politicians is just the side money, it's the bribe money which is no doubt substantial, and the selfish greed government officials is allowing this country to yield to communism.

There is no sense in trying to deny the fact that the united states is loaded with empty concentration camps in all states including Puerto Rico. The largest concentration camp being a former mental institution in Alaska which is very reminiscent of the Siberian gulags.

Maybe it needs to be publicized more widely that the grinning puppet Obama is really communist and is from a family of communist. Maybe it's not yet well known that "progressive" is a code-word for communist. Consider for a moment why suddenly the need for: Executive Order 13603; Obama authorizes SLAVE LABOR on a large scale on American soil.

It comes as a surprise to many Americans, but slavery was never actually abolished in the United States. That’s not a metaphor, it’s a matter of careful reading of the 13th amendment to the Constitution. That amendment – often lauded for abolishing slavery – actually makes an exception for prisons. Slavery is still completely legal as “punishment for a crime.”

Ratified at the end of the Civil War, the amendment abolished slavery, with one critical exception: Slavery and involuntary servitude actually remain lawful “as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted.” In other words, according to this so-called punishment clause, if you get pulled over with the wrong controlled substance in your trunk, there’s nothing in the 13th Amendment to ensure you can’t be considered a slave of the state.

The punishment clause was taken directly from the Northwest Ordinance of 1787and reflected the belief of the time that hard work was essential to prisoners’ moral rehabilitation. But the language was also ambiguous enough to be grossly abused. Soon, the clause was being used to reinstitute slavery under another guise.

Consider that there are more African Americans behind bars today than there were enslaved at any given time in American history and it becomes clear how corporations got their “work around” to keep slavery 100% legal. This is nothing new. This is the way it has been since slavery was supposedly abolished.

Now, the private prison industries say the government isn’t keeping up their end contracts for this slave labor.

Those government agencies signed contracts guaranteeing a minimum occupancy or quota of prisoner-slaves

California guarantees that prisons will be filled to 70% capacity at all times. Arizona promises almost 100% occupancy.

With crime dropping, the private prison industry is losing money and they are none too pleased.

In order to avoid these lawsuits, judges will have to dish out extra-long maximum sentences – not because the defendant deserves it, but because the state wants to keep these contracts in good standing with the private prison industry.

A relative of mine took a law enforcement class and was in the class the day they killed Gacy.....that day the Assistant Warden gave a lecture to his class....during the Q & A afterward the warden explained that in college he was against the death penalty, in fact he wrote a 20 page paper attacking the death penalty.

He said that after working in the Prison system for a few years...and seeing the monsters that are kept there, he came to believe in 2 gurnees, no waiting............

While there are people in prison (I met some of them) that are normal hard working people that just want to to go home, and that got caught doing something stupid, there are also many (I met some of them) that are animals. One guy we had locked up in segregation would continually assault staff using any means he could. His favorite method was to gather up the contents of his toilet and hurl them at whoever walked past his cell. Whenever you would open his food tray slot he would take it over and throw shit at you. Pepper spray was used on this pos so many times the cell door rusted up.

There are many many unreasonable pos in prison, where they belong. So many liberal pos have changed the system where you can do very little to control these animals. Then you have the employees who refuse to do the job correctly and even worse, female staff who like the night shift. You know why.

Well, Louisiana has the highest prison population in the US, and according to the right wingers this solves all the problems, which is why Louisiana has the lowest crime rates in the US right? Wrong, it has some of the highest.

This is about fear. Using fear to try and keep people in their place, and not being sensible about how to deal with things.

I'm on the right side of things, both ideologically and in the correct view of things, and I don't say prison solves the crime issue. It solves the problem of those type of people being in the public where they can commit more crimes. Incarceration isn't designed to change someone, it's designed to punish those that chose to commit crimes. The ONLY one that can change a person is that person.

I did not do it that way.
