There can be no more epic a FAIL than that which has occurred in Wisconsin. Despite spending millions of dollars (and losing a chunk of members), unions were not only unable to flip Scott Walker and Rebecca Kleefisch out of office, but the brief non-victory they did have, has just ended.

State Sen. Tim Cullen, a moderate Democrat from Janesville, broke with his party's caucus Tuesday, saying he may become an independent over what he felt were political "insults" by the Senate majority leader.

The immediate result of the defection is not known. Democrats took control of the Senate on July 16 by a 17-16 margin and are still moving into new offices. State Sen. Rich Zipperer, R-Pewaukee, is stepping down Aug. 6 to take over as Gov. Scott Walker's deputy chief of staff, so even if Cullen leaves the party, Democrats will still hold a slim majority: 16-15-1. The Senate isn't scheduled to meet until January, and 16 of 33 seats are up for election in November.

The results? Democrats have a one-seat majority for a non-existent senate that has already adjourned and won't return until after the November elections when two of the seats are slated to flip to red. The unions and the people of Wisconsin are a few million dollars lighter after this tantrum.

It's a win-win. Unions lost the battle and in doing so a boatload of members and their due$. Hmmm...guess that makes it a win-win-win.

In the long-run, possibly. But in the short-run, the greedy Public Unions raped Wisconsin Taxpayers with their costly temper-tantrum.

Only you would look at people exercising their Constitutionally protected rights as voters, and call it a "temper-tantrum".

Greedy assholes stole from fellow Citizens again. It was a stupid & very costly temper-tantrum. Fuck em.

So the democrats are in charge until November worst-case scenario?

OP fail by its own evidence.

Spending other peoples' money. It's what Socialists/Progressives do. What a shame.

Actually, unions spend their own money. And the Koch's outspent the unions about 10-1.

Exactly, the Koch's and other extreme right puppet masters spent millions and millions of dollars and didn't gain a damn thing. They lost control of the senate, pinning down Walker and his extreme right fascist agenda from creating any more attacks on the middle class.

The topic of the thread is the defection of the democratic...

This will have implications if the guy isn't up for re-election in November... Especially if he caucuses with the R's...

The unions have been raping the taxpayers for years forcing the government workers to pay dues. The union membership is dwindling now that it's not mandatory for workers to be in the Union.

If they were so important and so necessary, why aren't all the workers sending in their dues voluntarily.

I think the Dem that's becoming an independent is making a wise move, he might otherwise loose his seat completely.
