If they factor in those who quit looking for work altogether it would be, maybe not that high but around 13% or so.

But why would you want to do that? Someone not looking for work will not find a job, so including them doesn't tell us how hard it is to actually get work.

I saw that, nothing but a poll. Not the actual stats. CONs used to UN, now we send Americans to die because of UN resolutions. CONs call polls liberal" unless they cite numbers they like. Best wait till MARCH when the February numbers will be released. A DAILY poll would fluctuate wildly, CONs pinpoint sized brains would implode.

unmm. The official numbers are also a survey. Bigger, and more accurate, but still a survey. GALLUP's isn't bad for what it is meant to be... a more timely indicator of trend. More difficult to analyze because they can't seasonally adjust, but it's not fair to dismiss it as "just a poll."
It's not an opinion poll, but a scientific survey. I don't think their "underemployment" rate is very useful, but their unemployment rate is always in line with the BLS unadjusted rate.
