Unemployment up to 9.0%

Yup The UE figures go up and down just like Barry's popularity figures.

Give it a hot minute and it will be at 8%.

Is that +/- 3%, like most polls? Watch out, next headline, UNEMPLOYMENT DOWN TO 6%.

well considering its gallup it's most like 3 points below the +/- 3 % ... so it's 12 percent minimum.

Still good, haven't the Obama-bashers been saying it's really 15%?

If they factor in those who quit looking for work altogether it would be, maybe not that high but around 13% or so.

+/- 0.7 percentage points at 90% confidence. In other words between 8.3% and 9.7%.

Note that it's not comparable to the official number because it is not seasonally adjusted, and there are some methodological differences as well. You can go to Table A-1. Employment status of the civilian population by sex and age for the not seasonally adjusted BLS numbers (error is +/- 0.2 percentage points at 90% confidence)

So that means that 90% of the workforce is gainfully employed.

All things considered, that's not too bad.

actually that would be terrible still if that were the only number there was.. but that's not even the truth. It's much worse.

bad news for reality ... media doesn't care yet. They might someday.

That means 90% of your brain ISN'T rotted away by cancer.

In the link is a chart of poll results going back two years which shows unemployment unchanged since February 2010.

The underemployed figure is also flat for the same period.

25 million jobs created during Clinton's reign, 3 million during Bush's. Damn near zero during Obama.

Somewhere along the way our job creation machine got seriously broken.
