Do you need to be spoon fed the info? The man left a link, did it occur to you that maybe you should read it?

Norway must be having a recession, it's unemployment number went up to 3.3%
    Norway Unemployment Rate

Wish WE could have that kind of a recession! :D

Norway? They have hot women and cold men. No wonder employment is up.

I did read the link, it didn't say much. It also didn't say a lot.
I was asking what the point of it was. Was he trying to argue that socialism is awesome? Or that drilling for oil creates lots of jobs? As far as I can tell, he was just stating a random fact
FYI: while 3.3% seems very low to us in the US, it is actually much closer to the norm in Norway. In the past 12 years it has varied from almost 5% to as low as around 2.5%

It's probably because they have universal health care.

Part of it is because it is really easy to get on disability in Norway, the number is usually around 12-13% of the country, many of these people are actually capable of working.

The big diffrence is that Norway and the government invests most of its money in the people. US spends 21% of its GDP on security(Police,CIA,FBI) and military, Norway spends 5% on security and military.

US can have numbers like that but then they have to cut the security spending to a minimum. In US there is a policeman on almost every corner, that costs a lot.

--and people need security. Maybe a bigger difference is that US 'headline unemployment' is measured by the BLS with their particular methods and definitions, and Norway's 'unemployment' isn't.

Norway dosen’t pay salaries to soldiers, that way they get security and military cheaper. They can still have security since soldiers work for free. One year of military training is mandatory and only food, transportation and shelter are covered. After that soldiers are enrolled to the reserves. They only pay salaries to officers from sergeant and up, and there aren’t many of them compared to soldiers.

If US can give soldiers zero salary like Norway you can still have security, but for a lower cost. So that way they there military and security is cheaper to operate. At the moment US spends to much money on military one way to cut is to say"zero salary for soldiers". Then you still conserve security, you can have even more soldiers and more security since they can work for free.
