Unemployment Benefits Running Out Again

Many families have begun to withdraw from their 401K's to put food on the table. Oh Well....just another plight of what used to make up the middle class of this country.

It's too bad we have a federal government that actively stands in the way of allowing people to go back to work.

SPOT ON!! Just think how many more jobs they can create if we did away with those pesky worker safety laws, environmental laws, child labor laws, overtime laws, the 40 hour work week, workers comp, etc.. :eusa_clap:

If you can't find a job after 52 weeks, you aren't trying.

Oh a lot of people have found jobs.

They used to be CAD operators or assembly line workers and now because there's little or no demand for those positions they have settled for food service or laborer on a construction crew. It doesn't make a damn what's going on...the same thing happened after Hoover in the early 30's. We might be another three or four years getting out of this. During that time the Republicans are still demanding lower tax rates for the wealthy.

Holy shit! A liberal finally figured out how to start Excel!

The market does not attempt to solve social problems.

The market works only to solve market problems.

The market basically doesn't give a rat's ass about the people or the national economy.

Thanks for displaying your lack of education. Now shut the fuck up and let people who are smarter then you come up with solutions while you sit around and bitch.

Another 'cant do anything for myself' liberal defending the hand that feeds.

'The market' is the hand that feeds?:lol::lol:

Being unemployed is not a 'social problem'.. it is a personal problem YOU are supposed to remedy... it is not up to society to prop you up, find you a job at the pay YOU want, or to coddle you while you cry about it...

One person being unemployed is a PERSONAL problem, I totally agree.

25% of the people being unemployed is a NATIONAL problem.

The market cannot fix a problem that it created, laddie.

Time to let the market take control of the situation. If the market cant solve the problem then its time that we as a country address the problems.

Enough pussy footing around. Enough printing dollars to prop up a failed system.

the market's rigged.... good luck.

Then the solution would be to return to free markets.

 The free market handily contributed to the worst economic situation since the Great Depression, and 'the rights' answer: the market isn't free enough. Your policies have dug this nation into a deep hole overe the last 30 years, and you think doubling down on those policies will dig us out of the hole?

As compared to George W. Bush who was a C student at Yale and Barack Obama who graduated magna cum laude from Harvard.

That's easy to say when you're young and healthy. I can tell you will have money enough but wait till you're sitting in those waiting areas looking at old decrepit pieces of schit barely alive waiting for a doctor and ................."YOU'RE ONE OF THEM!!"
Typical angry lib nonsense.
Tell the truth or dare to have an opposing viewpoint and you people wish bad things to happen to those who dare to defy you.
Ya know what? You plant your liberalism where the sun don't shine.

You take your "Rich Man's Party" and stuff them up your arse one at a time.
Rich man? You have it backward. The democrats are the party of the wealthy.
Washington DC democrats make up over half of the most wealthy senators and house members. Most of the wealthy areas of the US are BLUE.
Yeah, check it out. Connecticut, NY MA, NJ, CA.....LOADED with rich people.....
Bill Gates, George Soros, Warren Buffet, Bank of America, Coca Cola, AFL-CIO, SEIU, Johnson& Johnson, Proctor and Gamble....Yeah..Huge WEALTHY companies and individuals ALL contribute heavily to democrat candidates and liberal causes.
Oh and Obama's biggest contributor....WALL STREET...
The GOP is the party of the middle class. I am middle class and I can tell you to a man, most GOP people represent MY views in economy national security, foreign policy, immigration enforcement and a host of other views and policies.
Democrats stand for nothing and question everything. A democrat will run for office on what he or she opposes. Not what he or she supports.
Democrats love the rich as long as the rich are feeding their campaign coffers.
SO don't tell me the democrats believe there is nobility in poverty and that they are for the little guy..The only thing democrats are for is seeing how many Americans they can dupe into voting for them.
BTW, the unions all run by very wealthy people.

Obama is a Mussolini fascist, not a liberal....Duh

This is good for Obama because the unemployment rate goes down and the welfare dependency goes up......

It's exactly what his communist ass wanted.

As compared to George W. Bush who was a C student at Yale and Barack Obama who graduated magna cum laude from Harvard.
Per the Wall Street Journal September 11, 2008, "Obama's Lost Years," Obama graduated from Columbia University (to which he transferred after his first two years at Occidental College in California), with a degree in Political Science without honors, so had a GPA less than a 3.3. His roomate Sohale Siddiqi indicated Obama itially felt alienated, felt "very lost," and used drugs to get high, which could have led to low grades initially. The roomate indicates that he then turned serious and "stopped getting high." Obama transferred to Columbia because he was concerned with urban issues. Based on his overall undergraduate GPA of less than a 3.3, Mr. Obama's admission to Harvard Law School may reflect affirmative action statutes, low grades early, then higher grades later (purely speculation) and/or other factors.

At Harvard Law School, Obama graduated Magna Cum Laude, which, according to the Havard Law School website, is awarded to the top 10% of Harvard Law School students.

Also at Harvard Law School, Obama was accepted as one of 85-90 Editors of the Harvard Law Review, out of an estimated 1,000 students from the 2L and 3L classes that might have sought this honor. Obama was also elected President of the Law Review, which according to a Harvard Law spokesperson is not based at all on academics, but on other measures as would occure in any club.

(Really? Then it was the Dems who held up unemployment benefits so the wealthy can get a piece of the action?) :cuckoo:

Washington DC democrats make up over half of the most wealthy senators and house members. Most of the wealthy areas of the US are BLUE.

(And those "Blue" states are the ones who pay more in taxes than they get back unlike the "Red" states that keep dragging down the economy.)

Yeah, check it out. Connecticut, NY MA, NJ, CA.....LOADED with rich people.....

(Every state has their share of wealthy, moron.)

Bill Gates, George Soros, Warren Buffet, Bank of America, Coca Cola, AFL-CIO, SEIU, Johnson& Johnson, Proctor and Gamble....Yeah..Huge WEALTHY companies and individuals ALL contribute heavily to democrat candidates and liberal causes.
Oh and Obama's biggest contributor....WALL STREET...

(A fact of life is that money goes where power is. If the GOP had the White House you would see a lot of that same money still going there.)

The GOP is the party of the middle class. I am middle class and I can tell you to a man, most GOP people represent MY views in economy national security, foreign policy, immigration enforcement and a host of other views and policies.

(No, they're not. There's very little difference in national security and we've already seen the GOP foreign policy with its Iraq fiasco.
And on domestic issues the average American does NOT want "big government" controlling the private lives and decisions of its citizens. The GOP feels they know better what decisions that Americans need to make in their private lives.)

Democrats stand for nothing and question everything. A democrat will run for office on what he or she opposes. Not what he or she supports.

(Oh now THAT'S rich coming from the party of "NO".)

Democrats love the rich as long as the rich are feeding their campaign coffers.

(And the GOP is different how?)

SO don't tell me the democrats believe there is nobility in poverty and that they are for the little guy..The only thing democrats are for is seeing how many Americans they can dupe into voting for them.

(Nobody ever said there is "nobility in poverty". But when the "little guy" sits and watches the wealthy get HUGE tax breaks that the "little guy" will have to pay for there is no need to "dupe" anyone into voting Dem.)

BTW, the unions all run by very wealthy people.

WTF do you know about unions? Obviously not a damn thing.

.

You are all over the place.
The fact is , things evolve.
The bottom line is business owners will continue to invest in technology so that employees can do their jobs faster and with more efficiency. That streamlines the process and helps the workers by making their jobs easier. One of the pitfalls is technology also reduces the need for workers because technology has eliminated the need for certain tasks.
If anything, US based manufacturing is way behind in this area. American mfg refused or because of unions could not modernize it's way out of the old school smokestack phase. The result was a lot of manufacturing work went overseas where it could be done faster. cheaper and with equal or higher quality.

Bullshit. That tired old RW line has been around longer than I can remember. Unions have NEVER been strong enough to dictate to manufacturers the way you're trying to imply.

And for you to say that foreign workers have "equal to or higher quality" than American workers is even a bigger bullshit lie.

You can run down America and our workers all you want. But I choose to believe that we are the greatest nation in the world with the best workforce in the world.
