Under the United States Constitution,

Under the United States Constitution, Do Individual Citizens
have the Right NOT to purchase a Product or Service?

* The United States Congress lacks the political will to be honest with Americans by taxing citizens directly to pay for Obama Care; but because direct taxation would have been unpopular, such a method for paying for Health Care Reform would have made said Reform un-passable. Thus, requiring citizens to buy health insurance is actually a form of taxation through the back door. [#12]

* Before passing the Universal Health Care Bill, the Senate questioned whether they had constitutional authority to require all citizens to buy Health Insurance. For this reason, in 2009 the Senate Finance Committee asked the Congressional Research Service to render an opinion about the constitutionality of the mandate — can the Fed force citizens to buy a good or service? The Senate Research Service concluded: "Whether such a requirement would be constitutional under the Commerce Clause is perhaps the most challenging question posed by such a proposal, as it is a novel issue whether Congress may use this Clause to require an individual to purchase a good or a service." In other words, this issue is uniquely "new" and has never been addressed by the Supreme Court. [#15]
Does Federal Government have Authority to Force Citizens to Buy Health Insurance under Penalty of Law?
That's now how rights work. There is no law allowing the government to compel them to purchase a product at the federal level. The government doesn't have that right.

Except for car insurance.

Your honor, let the court put into record the ABSOLUTE ignorance of the witness... I vote to acquit on the basis of insanity

Some flaws in your lack of argument.

1. You don't have to buy car insurance if you have no car.
2. There is no federal statute that says you MUST have car insurance. Those are state statutes.
3. You do not need car insurance if you operate your vehicle completely on private land.

Treble-fail Hairnet. Treble-fail.

The Constitution imposes an obligation on the federal government to guard the country. It is one of the few obligations the government has. Under the necessary and proper clause, we can have a army, navy, airforce and buy weapons.

******snio******

How did we get people educated in this country that are so unknowledgable about their own nation?

so the general welfare and commerce clauses were just tossed in there because they sounded good?

i don't know, maybe by listening to people like ron paul and rush limbaugh?
If the General Welfare and Commerce Clauses were designed to override every aspect of the limitations on government, why'd the founding fathers sign on?

Think of it! They just escaped ONE tyranny and tried a loose confederacy and found the problems there. And then to have another one thrust upon the sovereign states (and yes they are still technically sovereign) that basically says the federal government can do whatever it wants as it see fits for the good of the people by their own definition?

Fuck, just get King George III back over here and say, "our bad"!

The modern interpretation of the commerce clause and the general welfare clause are as stretched out as Michael Moore's waistband.

Everybody participates in the interstate commerce of health care.

You pay Federal Car Insurance? Thought not, States have the authority under their own Constitutions, there is no power for the fed to do it. You want it, make an amendment and get it passed.

Commerce clause does not give the Federal Government the authority to force citizens to buy anything. It only allows them to regulate the trade.

Doesn't matter. Car insurance is mandatory in all 50 states. Who cares whether it's state or federal? It's still mandatory.

The law matters you RETARD. States have the power to insure the ability of car owners to pay for accidents under their Constitutions, No such authority exists at the federal Level.

Sometimes you prove just how fucking STUPID you are.

By the way one does not have to own a car. And if one has private property one does not have to insure vehicles that never leave private property either.

What an intellectually disingenuous morphadidic fuck you are! Have you been drinking the "Mop and Glo "again after work hours at the commons?
