There are several ways the President can crack down on guns with an Executive Order, all entirely constitutionally.

1. Beef up background checks.

2. Increase database sharing.

3. Prosecute more gun violators more harshly. The OP claims Obama has been rather weak in this area. Whether or not that claim is true, the Executive branch has prosecutorial discretion. This means the Executive can choose to be aggressive in one area, at the cost of not being able to focus so much on other areas. Maybe one President decides to focus on pornographers at the expense of taking his eye of bank fraud, for example.

Whatever the case, the President can move gun violations to the top of his "Kick Ass and Take Names" list.


All of this would be entirely within his constitutional powers, and in fact he has stated some of these as his intentions before. If only the piss drinkers had bothered to check things for themselves instead of swallowing their puppet masters' cocks.
