United Nations (United States) (AFP) - A draft resolution on raising the Palestinian flag at the United Nations will likely be adopted next week in time for president Mahmud Abbas' visit to New York, the Palestinian envoy said Thursday.

The UN General Assembly will vote on September 10 on the measure that is almost certain to garner a majority of votes in the 193-nation forum.

"We have the votes and we are working to get as many votes as we can," said Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian representative to the United Nations.

Once adopted, the UN will have 20 days to carry out the decision, which would be in time for Abbas' visit on September 30.

The following countries met on January 7, 2005 to discuss their fear of a Shia "Crescent" that will run from Iran through Iraq to Lebanon via Syria. They are: Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Syria, and Turkey. They will support the Sunni in the civil war.

Do you mean the land grab that has seen over 95% returned to its owners in exchange for a lasting peace. This just leaves the west bank minus Jerusalem to be handed over. Do you mean like the arab muslims that lasted a sparse 22 years before being told to leave, never had sovereignty over Palestine since have they so what do they own again under International law ?

The problem is they then allow other dictators to take control and even more people are mass murdered. Look at Egypt when the muslim brotherhood gained power and went from democratic to dictators overnight. How many times has IS changed its name and leader in recent years, and how many of its own has it murdered ?
