Un-freaking-believable... You can now be arrested for your choice of attire.

They did escort her OUT. As far as arrest being outrageous, when you have most of the leadership of the Country in on place it's not. Hell, I'd a shot the bitch!
Yeah, and you'd go to prison and meet "bubba the love sponge" for having done so.

so lets see they went up to her and said mame you are going to have to cover up your t-shirt....

she says no

they say then you will have to leave

she says no

they move to ...remove her....she resists...bang you are off to jail
Could be... under that scenario I'd be a lot less upset. So far, that's not the account. Like I asked just moments ago... show me where that's the account. Shouldn't be too hard if that's the case.

I looked it up. Seems as though it's illegal to have a political demonstration inside a federal building. Sheehan has turned herself into a walking demonstration, and until that changes, I doubt she will be allowed in any federal building. I also found out that she kept the thing covered until she had taken her seat. Seems that she knew it was illegal, or at least inappropriate enough that she'd have to sneak it in, but did it anyway.

Feel free to provide any support for your unsubstantiated assertions about the conditions for arrest. If you aren't just making that up, you should have no problem.

Feel free to follow blindly in the footsteps where others have ignorantly tread before you.

It's the federal government, not a hoedown. There's a dress code, and a t-shirt doesn't fit the dress code, no matter what it says on it. Sheehan, being the exhibitionist media whore she is, chose to violate the dress code, probably hoping she would be arrested so she could claim it was because of what the shirt said.

Still - if there's a dress code, you tell the person to leave, and if they don't, you arrest them for trespassing. According to the article, she was literally arrested for the shirt she was wearing.

they asked her to cover up and asked her to leave that is in the article you posted.....one can only conclude that she refused

Where'd you find this?

And Jaz, give it up man.

"She was asked to cover it up. She did not," said Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, U.S. Capitol Police spokeswoman, adding that Sheehan was arrested for unlawful conduct, a misdemeanor.

she wasn't tresspassing though

That's not what it seems given the story. If so, I could understand and accept that. I'm looking forward to this going to court. I bet they drop the charges, and if so, I hope she sues. It's outrageous behavior if all she did was wear the T-shirt and for it she gets arrested.

Relax, Jaz. When righties don't like the facts, they make them up. Its their way, get used to it.

I don't recall any dress code in the Capitol when I went as a kid.

I'm sure its like what a lot of bars do. That is, the dress code is determined when you walk up to the door, and they decide if they want you in there or not.

So if there really is a dress code for the Capitol, what is it? And show me a link. Because I'm sure if there is one, it would be made public, so that visitors could be sure to dress properly. I sure as hell can't find one here http://www.aoc.gov/cc/visit/index.cfm

I think you guys are making this up. There is no dress code, provided you are dressed in a manner which would be legal outside the capitol, of course. You righties always make stuff up when it suits you.
