Pizza? I thought Indian curries were the #1 takeout in UK?

People in the UK eat high fat food and meat, its disgusting how bad their food is.

I always think 'bangers and mash' or 'fish and chips.' I wonder if it's really any more unhealthy than what Americans eat, though. Everything is better when it's deep fried, right? I have a feeling we invented that phrase.

American food is horrible also, if its not deep fried in oil its loaded with sugar or its a carb that has been so over processed it breaks down almost immediately into glucose. Our portions are also too large and humans should not be eating 3 meals a day.

Humans evolved on a diet that digests and metabolizes slowly, trickling glucose into our bloodstream after a meal over a few hours, and with periods of fasting that burned off the stored fat built up when food was plentiful.

Todays foods break down into glucose in minutes flooding the bloodstream, the body reacts to this glucose overload by cranking out insulin which removes the excess glucose in the blood and trucks it over to fat cells for storage. Its such a blast of glucose the pancreas overshoots removing too much glucose, that's the low blood sugar crash, we react by eating more to bring it back up.

This stresses and wears out the pancreas, this is where type 2 diabetes comes from. And since we think we need to eat 3 meals a day we never experience the periods of fasting that used to burn off the stored fat, it just keeps building up layer after layer.

They know their healthcare system is stretched, just as Canadas is so they look at ways to decrease it. Plus, they know people have less money so they create an excuse for food portions at grocery stores to be smaller, but the same price, I see this in Canada all the time.

I think there is a difference from giving kids food so awful they won't eat it, to giving incentives for healthy behavior. Don't know anything about the walking campaign. I want to ask a serious question, I'm not trolling or looking to fight, but I am curious when a democrat will accept healthy incentives. I'm looking at things from an auto insurance type of perspective. Good driver discounts, low accident discounts ect. Rewarding good behavior. Most democrats oppose this perspective from a health perspective because they do not think it is fair for everyone. Why not give rewards for not smoking, drinking, or having a healthy body fat index? How is that unfair?
