Former UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage identified high immigration levels as a significant factor contributing to financial issues related to the British National Health Service (NHS). While introducing a segment on Fox and Friends, Steve Doocy mentioned protestors in London who wanted more money for their country’s NHS, “the same universal system that Democrats have continued to push for here in the United States.”

Farage, a Fox News Contributor, explained that his nation has “a population crisis caused by government policy on immigration,” noting that it adds five hundred thousand people per year, “so we with a population of 65 million are now increasing by half a million people every single year, over three quarters of that directly attributable to immigration over the last few years.” He continued, “And the problem is, you know, we just haven’t got enough hospitals, we haven’t got enough doctors, we haven’t got enough facilities, that’s one problem we’ve got.”

Pointing to what he considers another large issue, he said, “the National Health Service has kinda moved into becoming the International Health Service.” He said the country is “providing a lot a healthcare for people coming into Britain from all over the world.”

Nigel Farage: Immigration ‘Population Crisis’ Causing Problems for Britain’s Public Healthcare

Oh that's complete nonsense from Farage.

The reason why the UK NHS is suffering is because the Tories have been bleeding it dry for years.

They did it in the 1990s. Hospitals were failing, schools were failing. They simply don't want to fund these things.

Here are some facts to back me up.

1) The US Federal Govt spends MORE per capita on healthcare than the UK govt. Yes, more.

2) The US spends $9,892 per person per year on healthcare (including health insurance etc).
The UK govt spends $4,192. And they wonder why there isn't enough money.

3) The US's healthcare expenditure has risen by $1,200 since 2013.
The UK's healthcare expenditure has risen by $300 since 2013.

With inflation in real terms this is a DROP in spending.

4) It's also a drop as a percentage of GDP

5) This has happened before, and it always happens under the Tory govt. Healthcare spending was too little the last time they were in power, getting kicked out in 1997.

6) This is a deliberate policy of the Tory govt to try and make the argument that a single payer system doesn't work. No, it doesn't work if they destroy it. However they MISLEAD. They claim that they're putting more money into the NHS which is true, but in real terms this is not more money, it's less money. But they hide this.

Then you get Trump using the UK as an example of single payer failure. No, single payer is not a failure, the Tory govt is a failure. Greed is a failure.

This is inevitable with any government that maintains a welfare state.
