uh,ooh Obama is in trouble again. Speeches are not working

Mebby he needs to send Gibbs and Biden out front a little more often.

He is in trouble, but you have to admire his persistance, he will probably get something passed but it won't be anything like he had in mind. Reid stated that he is ready to do the nuclear option only requiring 51 votes in the senate, but should that happen it could well signal the end of the democratic party for years to come. The people are already incensed over this insane spending and to pass it on a lower than normal count in the senate would just send them over the edge.

I believe they will pass the original HR3200 in the Senate, with very few changes, and send it back to the house for a vote there, which will be a partisan win for the Dems.

But isn't it quite humorous that out of one side of their ass they blame Repugs for "defeating health care reform" while out of the other side they acknowledge they don't need any Repug votes or support? That's lost on the typical Obamaphile out there.

They aren't that concerned with keeping their jobs. They believe that since none of these proposals goes into effect until a YEAR after passage, and since they're confident either the economy will recover or will be SOLD as recovered by the lapdog media, they have nothing to worry about.

And they're not lying when they pooh-pooh the protests, they truly believe it's just a loud fringe of older, white racist people who are protesting. So those don't worry them either.

And guess what? Their gamble might just pay off. Nothing gets the sheep back into the pen better than a booming economy, or one that is sold as booming. And the sheep historically have been shown to have a short memory. Remember, elections are more than a year away. Their base is going to vote to re-elect anyway, no matter what they do. And they're truly not worried about the Moddies and the Indys, they think they'll have their votes via racism intimidation.

Keep in mind this is only the gamble I believe they will take. Not that it will necessarily work. But they are invested in this President, and there will even be a good number of them who will actually, gladly fall on their swords for him. Even if they know for sure it's their political death.

Because he is a cult figure, and never underestimate the power of the cult figure. Think Manson, Koresh, Jim Jones.... And you get the idea.

well hes gonna go on letterman so everyone can gaze on him once again

They are invested in the President as long as the polling numbers are behind him, but they know who sent them there in the first place and they know who can get them out of there in the second place.

What part of WE DON'T HAVE DA MONEY TO PAY FOR AN OVERHAUL OF THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM WITH THE PUBLIC OPTION OR THE SENATE VERSION do any of you not understand.

It's not there and soon congress and the senate will come to that realization.
Fix the 15% that don't have health insurance through legislation and leave the rest alone.

They don't care about the polling numbers right now. They know those will come back into their favor as time passes. The sheep will get back in the pen. They always have.

They are banking on it.

Hey dingbat that is even older than me, the last administration had eight years of nothing but failure and incompetance. All it takes is for President Barak Hussien Obama to succeed on one issue, and he has done better than than the previous administration.

All together now...

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!!!!!

In other presidential you-talk-too-much news: He will be making the rounds on all the Sunday shows, except for Fox's, this week.

Good for President Obama. He should address the American People as much as possible. Instead of just issueing fiats as the last administration did.

Dingbat, the comparisons are valid. Look at the economic situation in the Clinton administration versas the Bush administration. You freikin Conservatives had your chance for eight years. You blew all of them. From Iraq to Katrina, you have nothing but failure on the record. So you want to dictate what goes down now? Shit, why should anyone with more than a two digit IQ give you the time of day?

Fuck the Republicans. The Dems should just ram it through and be done with it.
I believe they will. But in the meantime, wouldn't you like to see them drop the dishonesty of the "republicans killing health care" mantra? Because the repugs can't kill anything.

Why you would want this horribly flawed, horrendously intrusive and massively expensive program however, is another topic totally.

I'm all for that, since virtually every time he goes out without TOTUS he finds a couple of flaming bags of poo to jump on.

Because there's been no CHANGE!

"Appeal to Mom" is one of the fallacies of logic, falling under the "bandwagon" category of logical fallacies. It goes like this:

Kid #1 and/or his friends are in trouble with Mom. Kid #1 appeals to Mom with, "But MOM, the other kid did it too!" and promptly earns himself a rap in the mouth.

It's never worked, even on Mom, and most intelligent, mature people give up this logical fallacy around age eight.

Because it's not about the "other kids."

Folks who employ this infantile fallacy of logic when it's to defend Obama fail to realize that in doing so, they completely undermine the "change" mantra. There was supposed to be change, therefore there shouldn't BE any valid comparisons to Bush or anything Bush ever said or did. Otherwise, it's more of the same instead of change.

"See? Booooosh did it too" is a classic example of the "Appeal to Mom" fallacy.

DO you understand? Booooosh isn't President anymore, Obama is. And if your defense of Obama is "Bush did it too" then, you're actually making an argument AGAINST Obama.

Clear? Probably not.
