Three days before the deadly assault on the United States consulate in Libya, a local security official says he met with American diplomats in the city and warned them about deteriorating security.

Jamal Mabrouk, a member of the February 17th Brigade, told CNN that he and a battalion commander had a meeting about the economy and security.

He said they told the diplomats that the security situation wasn't good for international business.

"The situation is frightening, it scares us," Mabrouk said they told the U.S. officials. He did not say how they responded.

Mabrouk said it was not the first time he has warned foreigners about the worsening security situation in the face of the growing presence of armed jihadist groups in the Benghazi area.

The main building in the compound is in charred ruins.

The suite where the body of the ambassador was found was protected by a large door with steel bars; the windows had steel bars.

His body was recovered after looters broke into the room. It appears his security detail left him in the room while they tried to deal with the attack.

There are numerous questions about what happened at the consulate where protesters had gathered to demonstrate against the film "Innocence of Muslims," which reportedly was made in California by a filmmaker whose identity is unclear.

Chief among the questions is what happened to U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, who went missing during the attack.

The State Department has not released details about how Stevens died, though numerous media reports have said the ambassador was taken from the consulate to the Benghazi medical center by locals.

He arrived at the hospital, according to the reports, unresponsive and covered in soot from the fire. A doctor was unable to revive him and declared him dead, the reports said.

According to one of the Libyan security guards who was stationed at one of the gates armed with only a radio, the assault began simultaneously from three directions...

Bush had nothing to do with this debacle, it's Obama's and Hillary's doing. They get all the credit for this one. ;)

CAIRO — Al-Qaida vowed to keep fighting the United States and avenge the death of Osama bin Laden, which it acknowledged for the first time Friday in an Internet statement apparently designed to convince followers that it will remain vigorous and intact even after its founder's demise.

Al-Qaida's plots are usually large-scale and involve planning over months or even years. But Western intelligence officials say they are seeing increased chatter about cheap, small-scale attacks – perhaps by individuals or small extremist groups inspired to take revenge for the killing.

"USA, you will pay!" chanted more than 100 participants in a pro-bin Laden protest outside the U.S. Embassy in London on Friday.

Osama Bin Laden Dead, Al Qaeda Confirms

There is a lot more to this attack than what is on the surface. I don't know who or what but the attackers were too well prepared and had way too much intel to be random extremists with RPGs.

Yeah, most Americans are repulsed at how they frantically tried to blame Romney right after the attack. That pathetic smokescreen just ain't flyin. This is a terrible debacle. And it is all on the Dear Leader. This is his illegitimate War.

Bush had nine months to listen to the top terror experts.

Try living in the here and now. Bush is no longer President and hasn't been for almost 4 years. Libya was on it's good behavior when Obama took over. This is Obama's mess that he didn't see to it that our consulates were protected on the anniversary of 9/11. It has already come out that the consulate suspected that they were under surveillance. I feel sure they would have communicated that to the State Dept. I also feel sure that we won't hear about communications that occurred until Obama is defeated in November.

This is your Dear Leader's illegitimate War mess. And that is the reality, no matter how much you desperately try to blame the BOOOOSH and Romney.

Obama's illegitimate War??? What war is that?

The Libyan War. He didn't even attempt to get Congressional approval. And that's a disgrace that won't ever be forgotten by many Americans.

Yea, no boots on the ground, huh?? Obama killed bin Laden and Mummar Gaddafi, and the left thinks Al Qaeda is just going to sit back and tolerate it.

Who do you think the Muslim world will side with?? The guy sending in drones or the folks attacking in the name of Allah??

Look, I will bet everyday of every week the President gets warning at the daily intel meetings. Warnings like the ones where we evacuated some college universities. Picking out the credible ones from the fake has to be very difficult and the CIA has shown at times it has not been perfect in those predictions. So they warned the staff of what is very obvious. I would think that the Ambassador who is actually in the situation would be the best judge of the risk involved. Apparently he down played the risk. What is really interesting is one of his last tweets concerning the movie. Apparently he did know that there would be riots over the movie or at least knew that the movie would be the excuse. So he should have known the risk he was putting everyone in. To blame Obama, considering he might not have even known, is as unfair as it is to blame Bush for 9/11.

That said, what is the telling about Obama is the report of how few intel briefings he actually does attend. Maybe it doesn't really matter because he is not really calling the shots but it seems to me that the leader of the free world would like to attend to business, which we see what business is important to Obama, getting reelected so he can be more flexible with the Russians.

Yes we know, this deeply conflicts with your Obamabot programming. Therefore you must pretend it all never happened. Oh, and blame DA BOOOOOSH & Romney too. Whatever.

Diplomat killed in Libya sent chilling message to fellow gamers before death | Fox News
One of the American diplomats killed Tuesday in a bloody attack on a Libyan Consulate told pals in an online gaming forum hours earlier that he'd seen suspicious people taking pictures outside his compound and wondered if he and his team might "die tonight."

Here's a question. The FBI sure jumped in quick. How is it that the FBI gets jurisdiction in an embassy attack?

As did Clinton this will be treated as a criminal offense then the act of war it is. Maybe not an act of war with Libya but an act of war on terrorism.
