U.S. War on Lemonade Stands

Big Brother is awesome huh? He knows what's best for us.

Yep - The radical right wants to control what we do in our bedrooms and with whom we do it, who we marry and the most basic right of all, when we choose to procreate.

Where are the "libertarians" in this? Most of them want the same thing the rw's want - bigger government, more laws, fewer freedoms

I'm a libertarian, I'm on here speaking out against this bs. Whether it's a town run by reps or your beloved dems.

You're a liberal, trying to excuse this by deflecting from it with your parroted talking points.

Yeah, thanks for not making this a partisan thread.

Sadly this kind of stuff isn't rare these days. Just more evidence of an out control gov't doing anything and everything it can to rape its citizens.

If Life Throws You Lemons, You're Screwed Thanks to "Big Brother"

Sad what it took to end it, but when you google this happening it isn't rare at all for kids parents to get a $500 fine for this.

The minute I saw this I just KNEW it was going to be Oregon. As I clicked on the link I said to myself "how much you want to bet this is in fucking Oregon?" This place is great in so many ways and for the most part it completely rocks, but boy there are a couple things about it that really suck.

This also happened in Washington DC...

They arrested these people for selling lemonade....

Guitar companies are raided and lemonade stands violate OSHA rules in the brave new world of liberalism. Meanwhile the attorney general ships 3,000 illegal weapons to Mexico and the libs aren't the least bit concerned when one of the weapons is used in the murder of a Border Patrol officer. The world is upside down to liberals.

Big Brother should get out of Citizens' bedrooms once and for all. And you Socialists/Progressives are just as guilty as the Neocons when it comes to Government involvement in Citizens' private personal lives. Our growing Nanny/Police State is all on you guys. You're part of the problem, not the solution.

this was done in Oregon, it does not implicate the entire US.

Happened in Ohio as well, that's how I heard about this. Then did a google search and found out it happened in Oregon as well.

Don't act like this is an isolated thing. Seatbelt laws, texting laws, no mcdonald's toys, can't throw a frisbee on a California beach, crazy ass laws everywhere. And it's only going to get worse.

So seat belt laws and anti-texting laws are big brother overstepping also? Sorry, but I don't think so. Sorry if I don't support your right to text while driving and kill some innocent person because you felt like it was your right.

So, Big Brother fining & shutting down kids' Lemonade Stands is fine with you?

Having enough cops to be able to peer into your car and notice these near impossible to notice things and fine you for them is good?

You take your seatbelt off after getting pulled over to take out your wallet, cop writes you a ticket for no seatbelt. You go to court saying you had it on, cop says you didn't, you'll get fined. That's ok to you?

What's the difference between looking down to text, or looking at your radio to change the station? Or looking down to grab a burger you're eating? Or looking over at a car crash? Or looking down to take out your car lighter?

I honestly can't think of any level to which gov't can expand that a modern day liberal wouldn't approve of.

Government mandated & controlled surveillance cameras in vehicles? Sound crazy? Who knows these days? I just read where the Government will be mandating 'Black Boxes' in all vehicles. It's always all about the control for Big Brother. It's getting worse & worse by the year. It's very depressing.

Killing an innocent person is already illegal, always has been. Why can't we just leave it at that? Your anti-texting laws haven't stopped people from texting while driving...stupid people don't obey your laws. But hey, if it makes you feel better, then shitting on the 4th amendment, adding to our debt, and growing government, why, it's all worth it!

He's pretending gov't added that law to keep people safe, he's pretending the reason isn't to write more tickets and get more money from people.

At least I hope he's pretending.

Unfortunately, most Americans are extremely loyal to the Nanny/Police State. You can't get through to them. They're just too far gone. The Socialist/Progressive & Neocon Globalists run the show in this Country. It is very sad but it is what it is. But why are so many so loyal & obedient to the State? Maybe this can explain it somewhat...

Lemonade Freedom Day

8/18/12
By Orit Sklar

---

For all those who are awake to the threat, there is a way to be heard -- Lemonade Freedom Day. Americans are setting out Saturday, August 18 with their ingredients, tables, and signs to blanket the country from Washington, D.C. to California with lemonade stands. It's a small effort but a powerful impact for a truly noble cause -- simply, freedom. So buy a cup or two at your neighborhood lemonade stand or start your own, because it's Lemonade Freedom Day.

It's for their own good. It's all for the Childen. Well, that's what Big Brother keeps telling us anyway.

This, people, is what happens every time some numbskull looks at something he finds slightly annoying and thinks, "There ought to be a law..."
