The United States will overtake Saudi Arabia and Russia as the world's top oil producer by 2017, the West's energy agency said on Monday, predicting Washington will come very close to achieving a previously unthinkable energy self-sufficiency.

All we need is for Obama to open up Federal Lands to Drilling.

Guess what, we can drill our way out of this mess. we can become a net exporter of Energy, and go a long way to balancing our Trade Deficits. All we need to do is go after it.

But will we? Me thinks not for at least 4 more years.

Was it not Libs telling us just a few short years ago how we were running out of Oil, and we could not possibly drill our way out of this?

Now, Despite Obama not allowing more drilling on Federal Lands, we are still poised to become the Worlds biggest producer, and if we went after all that oil on Federal Lands in Ernest we could actually become the worlds leading Oil Exporter.

Just think of how far we could go toward balancing our trade deficits if we actually went after all the oil, and not just the oil on Private land.

Nothing in there suggests that their forecast that we will (read: will) become the world's top oil producer by the end of Obama's 2nd term suggests that prediction is contingent on a policy change. So it appears this is the case under the current administration's policies.

There is no doubt that North America has more oil and gas reserves than the entire Middle East!

But, will the current administration allow us to tap it?

NO WAY!!!

Obozo promised in 2008 that he would wipe out our domestic energy program. So, what makes you think he'll change his mind now?

Russia is going crazy drilling in the northern parts of their country - putting a whole lot of European oil companies to work drawing in huge profits. Notice I said "European"?

With government incentives, we could convert our entire commercial fleet to natural gas which is far cheaper, far more plentiful, and far more eco-friendly. Will we? Not likely!
