People can't look past the Midwest/their noses
While It's Icy in the Midwest, Australia has been burning for longer, and it's getting hotter, while our mere 2 day spree is over.
You want to (falsely) "prove" something with a Weather event instead of Climate, at least look at a global snapshot.

U.S. Midwest Freezes, Australia Burns: This Is the Age of Weather Extremes

In Chicago, officials warned about the risk of almost instant frostbite on what could be the city’s coldest day ever. Warming centers opened around the Midwest. And schools and universities closed throughout the region as rare polar winds streamed down from the Arctic.

At the same time, on the other side of the planet, wildfires raged in Australia’s record-breaking heat. Soaring air-conditioner use overloaded electrical grids and caused widespread power failures. The authorities slowed and canceled trams to save power. Labor leaders called for laws that would require businesses to close when temperatures reached hazardous levels: nearly 116° Fahrenheit, or 47 Celsius, as was the case last week in Adelaide, the capital of South Australia.

This is weather in the age of extremes. It comes on top of multiple extremes, all kinds, in all kinds of places.

“When something happens — whether it’s a cold snap, a wildfire, a hurricane, any of those things — we need to think beyond what we have seen in the past and assume there’s a high probability that it will be worse than anything we’ve ever seen,” said Crystal A. Kolden, an associate professor at the University of Idaho, who specializes in wildfires and who is currently working in Tasmania during one of the state’s worst fire seasons.

Norway to Algeria last year. In parts of Australia, a drought has gone on so long that a child in kindergarten will hardly have seen rain in her lifetime. And California saw its most ruinous wildfires ever in 2018, triggering a bankruptcy filing this week by the state’s largest utility, Pacific Gas and Electric.

Australia is sweltering through Record-breaking heat. And the Worst is yet to come

Australia is sweltering through record-breaking heat. And the worst is yet to come - CNN

Farmer Wayne Dunford was already feeling worn down. He'd battled through 18 months of some of the worst drought he'd seen in his half a century on the land.

Then the heat struck.
Dunford has been feeding livestock by hand on his New South Wales property for 12 months due to the lack of ground growth and is now worried about whether he'll be able to plant crops at all after extreme heat and wind completely dried out his fields.
"You turn around and you can't see across the paddock for the dirt blowing across it, that wears people pretty thin. And then there's the heat on top of that," he told CNN.

As the United States suffers from a record freeze, with temperatures plummeting below minus 32 degrees Celsius (minus 27 Fahrenheit), Australia is sweltering through an extreme heatwave.

An Australian farmer walks through a cloud of dust on her property on January 16.

Week after week, temperatures have continued to rise with all of the country's eight states and territories affected. Across the country, roads have melted, infrastructure has failed and both animals and fish have died en masse.

The southern city of Adelaide experienced its hottest day on record on January 24, reaching 46.6 C (116 F).
On Friday, Australia's Bureau of Meteorology announced it had been the country's hottest January on record, describing the weather as "unprecedented."

Winter here, summer there.

happens every year
No Stupid. The Australian heat is for a Year now, and hit ALL time record, and is hot Country-wide... and getting hotter.

Go **** yourself low IQ terd.
Only here could a 2 digit IQer be a mod.

Bud, let me know when they have a heat wave in the middle of their winter, or a blizzard in the middle of their summer.

That MIGHT be unusual.

Serves 'em right. That's what they get for willingly giving up their guns. Now the ghost of John Moses Browning will have his fiery revenge on those Aussies.

That's the best I could come up with.

Australia has been drying out and becoming a dying continent ever since continental drift sent it off into the south pacific. It's been going on quite longer than weve been using fossil fuels

lol.......laughing again.

The extreme weather st00pidness has been going on as a narrative for the k00ks for years now. Nobody takes it seriously.....maybe a few teenagers and a handful of nutters. The rest of us have eyes and the intanets!:fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

And yet the historical record calls our crop of alarmists out as liars.. Flat out liars...

Its been far warmer than today and with greater swings in temperature..

I love the SNIPPET view of alarmists.... Only the snip they think will cause the most fear and get people to give up their freedoms most easily... for nothing more than a manufactured crisis and lie.

Billy Bob's graphic was made from a single, known-unrepresentative Greenland ice core. Accurate temperature data for the Holocene (the past 11,000 years), made from 73 proxies world wide, may be found at numerous locations by searching the title: A reconstruction of regional and global temperature for the past 11,300 years.

Note the RATE of temperature increase in the contemporary data compared to anything seen prior. Note also that current temperatures are at least the equal, if not slightly higher, than anything seen in the last 11,300 years.
