    NBC: U.S. can't link Army private to Assange - U.S. news - WikiLeaks in Security - msnbc.com

U.S. military officials tell NBC News that investigators have been unable to make any direct connection between a jailed army private suspected with leaking secret documents and Julian Assange, founder of the whistleblowing website WikiLeaks.

The officials say that while investigators have determined that Manning had allegedly unlawfully downloaded tens of thousands of documents onto his own computer and passed them to an unauthorized person, there is apparently no evidence he passed the files directly to Assange, or had any direct contact with the controversial WikiLeaks figure.

Seems we have more people that need to be arrested.

Who did he pass the info to?
    What did they know?
    And
Does this get Assange off the hook b/c he may not have know the secrecy level of what he was holding?

As far as Assange is concerned..... ignorance is not a defense.

I agree. However ignorance tends to lead to a verdict on a lesser crime.

Like a pawn broker having stolen goods w/o knowing they are stolen.

They should stick the private in a brig. Terms of getting out and back in jail; telling who he sold the info to.

I'm certain Army Specialist Bradley Manning passed those documents to WikiLeaks. Just like I'm certain Lt. Col. Oliver North was in charge of Iran Contra way back when.

Assange is going to Skate. He's on his way to becoming a very rich celebrity.

Manning isn't going to be so lucky. He's going to be in a world of hurt for at least five years.

    North?

The whole kit and kabodoodle, Reagan included, could have been charged with Treason. Reagan violated the United States Constitution as well.

Ol' Ronnie's lucky that the American public loved him.
