A neighbor of mine, retired teacher with full benefits and health insurance for life, was adamantly opposed to any form of health care reform. She wants government to have NO role in health care.
But today she is leading the charge with handouts to "Call Senator Chambliss and Isackson and Governor Deal. Gas prices are not affordable. Citizens need help to afford gas prices. Call them and demand action on government help for those that can not afford high gas prices".
Speaking with her this evening she wants senior discounts and subsidies on gasoline no matter the need. She wants government to lower the price of gasoline now and wants that done with taxpayer dollars. I jumped her on this and she stated with a straight face "Well, we know that Obama favors goverment $$ for health care but would oppose funding for affordable gasoline. He would not favor helping oil companies lowering their prices with the tax dollars I pay so I could get cheaper gas. He is a socialist."
Folks, I could not make this stuff up!
