BUT the scientists believe that humans causing global warming CAN have a large influence over the short term. That means that we can cause an ice age with global warming (oceanic cooling), but we are to expect a naturally occuring ice age in at least 50,000 yrs.

Oh yeah, the earth is supposed to be in a cooling period for another 20,000 years or so, assuming we don't pollute the environment.

Right. That's why you said basically the same thing in the post preceeding it, only you had to impress yourself with some long-winded version.

I think if you libs would just shut the Hell up blowing all that hot air around, the Earth's temperature would likely drop 10 degrees and the problem would be solved.

The "warming" is noral climate cycles. Even the Weather Channel Storm expert has been saying that, and stopping the ;ibs when they try to rant about global warming.

Normal climate cycles wil not kill us

You have to understand where the scientists are coming from. They are not saying the climate has never changed in the past therefore the warming now must be unnatural.

What they are doing is pointing out the 30+% increase in co2 we have caused last century and saying that will have increased the greenhouse effect which will have led to an increased warming effect. That physical causation is really undeniable. Further they look at the temperature increase last century and try to attribute causes to that warming. They look at solar variation, aerosols, co2, clouds, etc. Ie they do look at natural cycles. They try to figure out how much effect each one of these had and whether they are direct temperature forcings or just feedbacks.

The current scientific knowledge on the matter is that most of last centuries warming can be explained as due to the increase in co2, and further co2 increases will therefore cause more warming. Hence the projections of a 2-4C increase in global temperature for a doubling of co2.
