I bet more than 6% of them are Republicans.

Total enrollment-229 Must be nice.

The number 2 school is in my district. TJ usually comes in number one with almost 1800 students. Not sure why they slipped but who cares. Those kids have brains falling out their ears.

What it does sound like is that you have to have the grades to get into the schools...... I don't know. We have a HS like that here.

The slugs, looser and troublemakers don't apply. Its amazing what you can do with kids when you can profile the bad ones and the slow ones out.

Texas is full of Republicans.

yep, the top schools are magnets that perform better than the privates. A few years ago the public cried out to increase the diversity at Thomas Jefferson, the number two on the list. They lowered the admission standards and the scores went down. They have tightened it back up and it is harder to get into than most colleges. Just like good athletes makes for good coachin'; good students makes for good schoolin'.

Both of my sons went to schools in Japan. Class sized ranged from 35-50

The obsession with class size is just a sneaky way to hire more tgeachers when it's the cirriculum that matters most.

And then there is the Texas Academy of Math and Science, the premiere pre-college high school in Texas. Located on the campus of the University of North Texas in Denton, TAMS produces Millions in scholarships to Ivys, Rice, Stamford, Johns-Hopkins, and the service academies for its 150-200 seniors each year. They do not use class rankings because every student there would be in his/her top 10% of their public school.
In two years, the get a diploma and accumulate 60-75 semester hours to take on to a major university.

I don't know if I am "into" science but I teach high school Health and Medical Sciences.

I am a career healthcare worker which requires some knowledge of applied sciences.

I am interested in ballistics enough to be into it I guess.

I have a master's in Public Administration which really is a Political Science degree with some Management and History thrown in.

Why do you ask? Is it because I stated that kids have brains falling out their ears? I was just joshin' you.
