TV evangelists need to pay taxes

Church's pay taxes; maybe not all the taxes you have to pay, but they are not exempt from all taxation.

This is why the only tax should be a sales tax so that we don't get into this discussion about who is paying more or less. We all pay the same with every dollar we spend.

there are many exemptions from sales taxes as well.

I am all for abolishing all special treatment for any person or business.

Do you really want to make a church or charity pay taxes where every dollar donated goes to uncle same to pay for those taxes? This is why I think a single state-wide sales tax would be better since donated dollars ain't taxed until spent thus making 100% all donations a donation to the organization itself instead of to the local government.

Their are those who want to make a big deal about this so why not channel that for our cause and eliminate all state taxes except one and that is a state wide sales tax. This way they don't cry about church and state issues and we can get some more taxes eliminated. Its a win-win for both sides.

allowing tax emp for church property removes revenues from local counties and states. seems conservatives are all about fair and balanced taxes till it comes to the churches...why is that....esp tv ministeries that take money from local churches...and give what in return?

tax them all

Fine. So you think that property owned by, say, the Red Cross should also be taxed? After all, THAT is removing revenues from local counties and states. Are you "outraged" by the "unfairness and imbalance" in allowing ALL charitable not-for-profits to be tax-exempt, or just churches because you have a personal bias against them and want to see them bleed?

Hinn stays in 10K a night suites all over the world.
His church writes that off as a business expense.
No taxes are paid on that $.
FRAUD.

Sorry, no. No fraud involved. You might not like it, but it's legal, and - unless you're a member of his church - none of YOUR frigging business. The IRS has no power to decide what hotel they put their pastor up in, nor should it, so long as they stay within the tax guidelines for a non-profit organization.

Why do atheists insist on monitoring the lives of believers, I wonder?

So, you would defend Hinn and the rest of the thieves?

Take a good long look at the life styles of the TV Evangelists. Is that something that Christ would appove of? Taking in that money, often given from people with very little of their own, to live a luxerious lifestyle.

And their personal private lives all too often are very far outside of what we would consider exemplary.

Believers? No, these people are the real athiests, for they act as if there is no reason to act in a moral fashion at all.
