Now that the election is over and we're no longer bombarded by the endless please of "Vote for Me!' we're back to the "normal" TV ads.

I don't know about the rest of you, but there are some that absolutely drive me up the wall! Not just the ambulance chasers but for some products and services.

I guess it depends upon where you live.

Me? I'm in an area with Cox Cable service and they've got this new ad for "bundling" - having phone, internet, and tv service together. They have this idiot screaming "bundling" and making a total arse out of himself.

Are there any that drive you nuts? If so, share them with us.

I hate the ones where they are peddling tax relief. "Are you 100k in debt to the IRS just call us and we can settle for pennies on the dollar." How do you get 100k in debt in the first place? and are these the small business owners that need a break?

To me, they are best ignored especially the ones that are over played. Usually there are probably just one or two commercials a year that I think are worth paying any attention to.

God bless you always!!! :) :) :)

Once in a blue moon I find some commercials funny, even more rarely I find myself interested in whatever it is they're selling. 95% of the time I completely and totally tune them out/change the channel/leave the room.

The Snickers Peanut Butter Squared ads with the sharks is among my all time favorites...."Eat both squares, please....."

My current favorite is this from the California Milk Advisory Board :

I Detest Progressive commercials.

I hate the drug ads.....but some are unintentionally funny....."If you've suffered a heart attack, kidney failure, liver disease, or DEATH.....please call this number..."

How in the bloody hell are you supposed to call the number if you're DEAD ?

Back in the 1970's, a new type of television became available. It was called ON-TV. You paid for it. In return, you got movies without commercials. That was the whole idea: paying money to avoid commercials.

Then came cable television, which has morphed into DirecTV and the other, satellite services.

Somewhere along the line, we have lost the original idea - paying for television to avoid commercials. Last time I looked, we PAY for cable and satellite t.v. Yet, what do we get with it? COMMERCIALS.

Where did it go off track?

Luv it..

I thought there was supposed to be a federal law prohibing advertisements form being louder that the normal TV volume.

What the fuck happened to that?

I just use the mute button. Amazing how much you can fit into a 4 minute conversation with your kids.

Commercials drive me crazy when the volume doubles. I guess it wakes you from the trance your in. Anyone ever notice how everyone's jaw drops when they watch tv?

I hear ya. I got rid of cable and satellite. After all television went digital, I got rid of that too. Now I just pay a little a month for Netflix. I haven't watched a commercial in years, not since all broadcasting went digital.

I think they are best ignored. Every once in awhile there is one that makes me laugh and I do enjoy those, like for instance the goat dorito commercial or the pepsi one commercial with the baby. We have a goat, so the Dorito commerical reminds me of our goat.

My favorites are the drug commercials with the side effects described at the end.

Nausea, headaches, blurred vision, suicidal thoughts, and the occasional death reported.
