And you will continue to leave out the fact that it is indeed supposed to be used for budgetary issues.. continue to leave out that opposition is that it is not being used for budgetary issues this time.. and that opponents are against it because of these very points... showing the basis for your and other winger's deception

budget reconciliation process
Maybe something you should remember
so did the republicans USE reconciliation or NOT to pass the Medicare pill bill? the pill bill was not a budget bill, was it?

U.S. Senate: Legislation & Records Home > Votes > Roll Call Vote

I count 11 Democrats who voted with the Republicans. was it a budget bill? don't know. I do know that if the demoncwats had not voted down the re-importation of drugs from Canada Medicare Part D would not be needed. Canada pays a fair price for American drugs, Americans do not. Now why did the dems vote no on that issue? Cause they had to ass kiss big Pharma to get their stupid health care bill passed and all the while they bitch that medicare part D was unfunded.. How hypocritical can they be?

tsk tsk..... republicans are the ones who turned down importation from canada in THEIR BILL and denied the negotiation of bulk discounts for the medicare pill purchases.

In addition to the problem of passing an unpopular health care bill, the Democrats have to do it under the bright lights of the media. Using reconciliation in this new way will cause a lot of press. The last thing a Democrat who is seeking reelection this fall will want. Reconciliation only works with enough votes. They don't have them and won't convince enough for the vote. It will go out with a whimper.

Except they didnt pasd the same bill, which is what is requried.
Fail.

Nice try at a quick hit, but right back atcha...fail on your part.

Failure to not be a partisan poster...and failure to give the notion that the Senate already did pass something on the subject its due. Without having passed the same thing, I think the idea that all these senators calling to start over have come to agreement on the subject already deserves some attention.

Utter total and complete fail on your part.
A bill becomes law after being passed by BOTH houses. There is not a bill that has passed both houses. There is one bill that has passed the House and another one that has passed the Senate. They are not identical. They are not even close.

It is a scream that Democrats are trying to sell reconciliation for a bill they cannot get passed with bipartisan support (not one single Republican signing on) that reorders 1/6th of our economy, that is opposed by a majority of Americans when they were screaming that the GOP was eviscerating the Constitution by using it to get around their block on judicial nominees.

The Democratic Party: The party of "Fuck You."

There is no single health care bill, popular or not. What part of reconciliation is too hard for you to understand?
It's bad for our country that the RW chooses to remain ignorant. Comments on this thread from the usual suspects continue to provide evidence that the RW fringe is not only not in touch with mainstream Americans, but a way distant from reality too.

You're right. There is not one bill. There are two plus one proposal. The one passed by the House, the one passed by the Senate and Obama's own proposal which is so non-specific that the CBO can't score it.
Every single one of them is opposed by the majority of Americans polled.
And the Left says the Right is out of touch? Hello??

jeez....nice high road attitude.

There is a single premise of a healthcare bill...and there is one on the table that will be modified...one filled with commitments from back room deals....with the basic outline being one of government control.

And the polls show the American people do not want it.

What exactly is so hard for you to understand?

Or do you simply like to divert by taking the "I am so much more in the know than the other posters on this board" high road?

It is getting old with you.

Nothing about reconciliation is hard to understand. How on earth do you reconcile a non budget bill???

I love it that wry thinks the lunatic left is mainstream America. That's what the obamalama thinks too. :eusa_angel: what was that old saying.. "they can't see the forest for the trees":lol::lol::lol::lol:

Hello. Polls depend on the questions asked. Most Americans believe the way we pay for health care needs to be reformed, the fear propaganda (Palin & death panels, Red Baiting) has taken its toll. Exactly why we have a republic. Sadly, our representatives have been bought by the ilnsurance industry and big pharma.

Reconciliation still requires a vote on a specific bill. What part of that gives you trouble? No health care bill has had a positive public poll in over a month. Your friends are about to hit the wall on this one. The carnage will be felt in November for the Dems.

It is a misuse of a procedure in the senate that was never meant for a big social program like this. Nor was it ever used for one by the GOP.
Rachel Maddow is an ugly dyke. No wonder you like her.

Um... yes, it was.

Also... what's your obsession with her sexuality?

Saying so doesn't make it so. Looks like the other posters here have outed your deception and lies.

Examples of Reconciliation used to effect social medicine

Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987 - expanded Medicaid eligibility
(recall that one of the major suggestions is to expand medicare eligiability

Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act

Y'all do realize that they're not trying to pass the bill via reconciliation, right?

Only parts of it.

It is unconstitutional when used to legislate. That is the opinion of the DEMOCRATIC Senator

What about the text of the Constitution?

I didn't see anything about it. Can you point it out?

Full Text of the Constitution of the United States | Freedom Documents
Whether or not one agrees with the bill, surely any decent HONEST person would be against using an unconstitutional process in order to ram through a bill that has little support - on either side of the house - and, more importantly, in the damned country.

Any decent and honest person would shut the fuck up and let it go to a vote and vote against it and defeat it through the usual means. We wouldn't be here today if the Republicans were decent and honest.

How do you compromise on destroying this country through taxation and regulation?

Projected costs of this bill < costs of Bush tax cuts

Projected costs of this bill < Iraq war

Projected costs of this bill < Afghanistan war

Projected costs of this bill < 'War on Drugs'

So...some how that justifies going even further into debt? The benefits are about the same or less than the examples as well. An important difference is, at some point, the examples will go away, while the health care program will be here forever.

It highlights the truth: the Reps don't care about the budget

They object to the bill for two reasons: Fuck a ****** ('Obama's Waterloo') and $$$$ (Corporate kickbacks and reelection funding)

Hi there.
There is not a single poll taken about the specifics of any of the three proposals that has garnered a majority in favor. While people favor "health care reform" they do not favor the idea of putting people in jail for not buying insurance.
While they favor "public option" they do not favor paying bribes to special interests like unions to pass the bill.
While they favor making insurance more available they do not favor the sleazy backroom horsetrading that passing any of this shit has required.
